Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a cargo transporting apparatus, which is equipped with means for shifting the position of cargo unloading end of conveyor in both of longitudinal and lateral directions and automatic control means for controlling said shifting means, whereby it is enabled to save energy for cargo unloading operation and also to improve efficiency of the operation.
CONSTITUTION: When cargo A is carried onto cargo receiving plate 43, it is detected by detector 52. Thereupon, holding means for holding the cargo on both sides thereof is set into operation for correcting the width of cargo A to a required size (l), and cargo A is dropped downward with retraction of cargo reciving plate 43. On the other hand, cargo unloading end of conveyor is arranged such that its position can be shifted in both of lateral and longitudinal directions by driving means 9, 13, 26, and it is asseociated with program controller driven by driving means 17, 45, 48, whereby said cargo unloading end of conveyor is moved along a zigzagged course B (not shown in the drawing). Thus, it is enabled to carry out cargo unloading operation in power-saving and efficient manner.
