Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the S/N ratio and distortion characteristic of reading signal from the head, by reducing the number of diodes, resistors and power supplies provided between the magnetic head and the amplifier. CONSTITUTION:When a mgnetic head 1a is selected by magnetic head selecting operation, a read-only positive supply voltage switch circuit of a write and read mode changeover switch circuit 29 is made to conduct, then from a positive power supply V3, a current I5 runs through a switch circuit 29 which is connected to a terminal 45, flows from terminals 46, 42 through a bidirectional current switch circuit 28a, and further runs from a terminal 41 to reach diodes 31, 32 through the intermediate terminal of the magnetic head 1a as half currents I6, I7 of the current I5, which are then passed into terminal resistors 39, 40. Therefore, the diodes 31, 32 are set in active mode, and the analog signal read out of the head 1a is transmitted to an amplifier 2. Thus, the number of parts provided between the head and amplifier may be reduced.
