Abstract

PURPOSE: Radical polymerization of 2 kinds of specific acrylate monomers, another specific monomer and acrylonitrile gives title acrylic rubber having reduced compression and well-balanced resistance to coldenss and oil.
CONSTITUTION: Radical copolymerization of a monomer mixture from (A) 30W 89.5 parts by wt of at least one monomer selected from alkyl acrylates with 1W8C, preferably 2W4C alkyl group, (B) 10W60 parts of at least monomer selected from alkoxyalkyl acrylates with 1W4C alkyl and 1W4C alkylene, (C) 0.5W10 parts of at least one monomer of the formula (R1 is H, methyl; R2, R3 is the same or different alkyls of 1W3 carbon atoms) and (D) 0W30 parts of acrylonitrile is conducted in the presence of a radical initiator in an aqueous medium at -10W100°C.
