Abstract
PURPOSE:To prepare the title laminate having excellent mechanical strength and adhesivity, and useful as a shielding layer of an optical fiber communication cable, by laminating an alternating copolymer of ethylene and a polar monomer to the surface of a metal foil interposing a reinforcing material therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A film or sheet of an alternating copolymer of ethylene and one or more polar monomers (pref. ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) is subjected to the corona discharge treatment in option, placed on a metal foil 1 heated at 180- 200 deg.C, and pressed to obtain a laminate. A silane-treated glass cloth, etc. is placed on the laminate as a reinforcing sheet 3, and an alternating copolymer film 2 is placed thereon. The stack is hot-pressed to obtain the objective laminate.
