Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a color element from being transferred to another layer, in case a color element image held in a mordant is held and aged, while imparting such characteristics to the same as are hardly subjected to chemical reaction or decomposition when exposed to the light by making the mordant of a dispersion of a special polymer. CONSTITUTION:A polymer dispersion having a unit specified by Formula (wherein A stands for a copolymerizable monomer unit containing at least two an unsaturated radical of ethylene, preferably, having monomers such as divinyl benzene copolymerized; B stands for a copolymerizable monomer unit, preferably, having cyclohexylmethacrylate representing an unsaturated monomer of ethylene; R1 stands for alkyl of C1 to C20 or aralkyl of C7 to C20; R2 stands for H or alkyl of C1 to C4; X(-) stands for a cation; x stands for about 0.25 to 10 mole %; y stands for about 0 to 90 mole %; and z stands for about 10 to 99 mole 5) is used solely or together with a hydrophilic different polymer as a mordant in a color diffusion transfer.
