Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a set of rectangular insulated electric wires with a broad width and having high reliability by arranging parallelly and bonding a plurality of insulated electric wires, which have been coated with a baked insulating paint, by rolling the wires into a rectangular shape, and thereafter by applying on the wires a paint and baking the paint.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of insulated wires, on which an insulating paint 2 has been coated and baked, are arranged parallely and bonded, and at the same time or after the bonding a paint 4 same as the insulating paint 2 or different from it is applied on the wires and baked. For example, two electric wires having a diameter of 0.37 mm and insulated by polyamideimide are juxtaposed, bonded using a polyamideimide adhesive 3 and rolled into a rectangular shape, and on them a polyamideimide insulating paint 4 is coated using a piece of felt and baked. After this coating and baking step havebeen repeated three times, the wires are heated at 530°C in a heat treatment furnace to obtain a set of insulated electric wires having a finished cross section of 0.169 by 1.40 mm with a thickness of the conductors being 0.152 mm.
