Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus described in the title which is particularly suitable for making super-small- sized artificial kidney, by constituting two flow path systems, having plural openings, of the same semipermeable membrane material contg. practically no other material, uniting the two systems in one body.
CONSTITUTION: On the surface of plural base materials 1, which are aggregated in parallel, for shaping the opening of the first flow path are laid a composite 2 having semipermeale membrane, e.g., cellulose, and base material 3 for shaping the opening of the second flow path one on another alternately. The resulting laminated material is covered entirely with resin such as polyurethane-polyurethane, than its lower, left, and right surfaces are cut off to form the first and the second flow systems. The first and the second base materials are then removed to form a component in which the first and flow systems are formed with semipermeable membrane, the component being sealed into a case in order to make an artificial kidney. Blood is introduced 5 from upper part into the dialyzer so as to penetrate the dialyzing material downward and is drawn off 6, while dialyzing liq. is introduced 7 into the dialyzing material so as to penetrate it from the left to the right and is drawn off 8. Becuase the blood flow path and the dialyzing liq. flow path are separated from each other with the semipermeable membrane only, waste material contained in the blood is percolated through the semipermeable membrane to the dialyzing-liq.-flow path, purifying the blood.
