Abstract
PURPOSE: The copolymerization of propylene is effected in two stages, at the first stage, the polymerization or copolymerization of propylene in liquid phase of propylene and at the second stage, the copolymerization of proylene in the gas phase, wherein the polymerization system is kept in fluidized state in both stages, thereby producing effectively title block copolymers.
CONSTITUTION: The catalyst, hydrogen, and monomers are supplied from lines 18, 19, line 20, and lines 21, 22 to polymerizer 23 respectively. At the first stage, the polymerization is conducted under conditions where propylene can be kept as liquid, that is, 40W90°C, 10W50 kg/cm2 and the unreacted propylene is expelled from the top 2 of the polymerizer and circulated through heat exchanger 3, lines 4, 5, pump 6 and others to form the upward flow of propylene in polymerizer 23, thus keeping particles of polymer formed in fluidized state. At the second stage, the gas phase polymerization is effected under conditions of 40W90°C, 10W40 kg/cm2 where propylene and other monomer is kept as gases and further these gases are circulated in the same, paths as above to keep fluidized state.
