Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the assembling work of a differential gear with a device for stopping the turning side gear when assembling the differential gear of spherical shape at the inner surface of the case of the gear by providing a turning stopper engaging in mesh with the side gear at a pinion mate shaft secured to the case.
CONSTITUTION: The inner surface of a differential gear case 11 rotated by a gear 9 is formed in spherical shape so that a pinion mate gear 12 makes spherical contact at the inner surface with a side gear 13. U-shaped turning stopper 42 as shown, for example, in Fig. A is secured to a pinion mate shaft 14 rotatably supporting the gear 12 and secured via a roller pin 44 to the case 11 via a roller pin 43. When the side gear 13 tends to rotate in the case 11, it makes contact with both side edges 42f, 42g of the stopper 42 to prevent both side gears 13 from rotating so as to avoid the inserting work of an iron bar to the hole 40 of the case and to the conventional spline hole 39.
