Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the wear of lining of a flow meter pipe due to gravel by connecting the pipe to an inlet pipe via a protecting ring of predetermined inner diameter shape.
CONSTITUTION: An upstream side pipe 6 is connected to a flow meter pipe 1 provided with a lining 8 via an annular protecting ring 3 formed with slightly smaller projection 3a than the inner diameter of the lining 8 at the inner bore D with urethane or the like having elasticity. Thus, it can prevent gravel flowing into the flow meter from colliding with the end surface of the lining 8 so as to eliminate the partial wear of the lining 8. Accordingly, it can preferably electromagnetically measure the flow rate of gravel mud water.
