Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reliability with simple constitution, by allowing only a main memory unit which is disallowed to make normal access to all of plural access units to attain diagnostic access. CONSTITUTION:Main memory unit 90 consists of several main memory units 91... 94, access units 60 and 70 attain access to unit 90, and constitution control assignment circuit 80 decides on where normal access from those units 60 and 70 to unit 90 can be made or not. Access permit units 62 and 72 allow units 60 and 70 to make diagnostic access to only the main memory unit of unit 90 to which all units 60 and 70 are disallowed to attain normal access. Consequently, several normal processes and a diagnostic process are carried out in parallel and the diagnostic process can be made without giving bad influence to normal processes.
