Abstract

CONSTITUTION:In a structure that a hollow tubular electrode 3 is inserted from the bulkhead side 1 of a furnace body in order to heat melted material 7, such as glass or another, the electrode 3 is formed in a hollow shape, an influx fluid precluding plate 5 which is movable by a retaining rod 9 is installed at the extremity of the electrode. Besides, cooling water pipes 10, 11 are arranged in the electrode 3 in order to prevent the electrode from abnormal temperature rise. The cooling water pipes and the retaining rod are tightly fixed by retainers 12 made of insulating material. 13, 14 are connecting portions for splicing electrode which are electrically conducted through an electric feeding terminal 15.
