Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the building of an underground spherical tank and easily adjust the posture of the tank.
CONSTITUTION: An almost hemispherical hole 1 of diameter slightly larger than that of the spherical tank 7 is excavated in the ground. Members 4 for constituting the spherical tank are conveyed into the hole 1 and then assembled with one another. When the tank 7 is half completed, water 6 is supplied in between the tank and the ground so that the tank is buoyed up or the weight of the tank applied to the ground is reduced. The half completed tank is appropriately turned and completed while the members 4 are added to the tank. Then, the tank is set into a predetermined posture. The water is removed. A heat insulator 8 is filled between the spherical tank 7 and the ground. Earth and sand 9 are laid on the heat insulator.
