Abstract

PURPOSE: A paste resin agglomerate that has smooth surface and is hardly unbound by shearness is used as a blending resin to produce a paste resin composition with low viscosity and improved gelation and melting properties.
CONSTITUTION: A latex of a vinyl chloride resin prepared by emulsion polymerization is dried in a spray drier whose temperature is kept over 160°C at the inlet and to a level of 70°C at the outlet under a pressure of 3W10 kg/cm2 by gauge to form a paste resin agglomerate with smooth surface and particle sizes of 5W100, preferably 20W40 microns. The agglomerate is required that when shearness is applied to a mixture of 100 parts by wt of the agglomerate and 140 parts of DOP at a speed of 50/sec at 23°C for 1 hr, at least 70, preferably more than 80% of the agglomerate retains the properties as an agglomerate. The resulting agglomerate is added to the paste resin in an amount of 10W30 wt% on the basis of the total amount and stirred along with a plasticizer to produce said paste resin composition whose viscosity is kept low.
