Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent serious damage from occurring at a steam turbine in advance by stopping it and warning an alarm when a thrust bearing is worn or the like.
CONSTITUTION: Since an oil hole 9 is closed during normal operation of a steam turbine, control oil pressure does not almost affect a pressure gauge 10 and prssure switch 11. When a thrust bearing 5 is worn, a thrust collar 4 and a partition ring 12 are axially moved. When they move longer than set gap Z, the shaft hole 9 and a slit 13 are started lapping to thereby introduce control oil prssure through the hole 9 into the meter 10 and switch 11. This pressure change operates the switch 11 to thereby warn an alarm and to trip the turbine. In this case the switch 11 operates sensitively to thus set in large range. Accordingly, it can prevent the displacement of the set switch 11 and erroneous operation thereof so as to eliminate the apprehension of non-operation.
