Abstract
PURPOSE:To form an image at a proper position of a copy material by providing means for detecting the initial position of reciprocating means so that this reciprocating means is returned to the initial position when it is not in its initial position prior to the initiation of the first copying operation. CONSTITUTION:If some causes a mirror system to leave its stop position beofore a print button PB is turned on, an SW4 is at its b position, and a relay RL-C is not conductive, even if the print button PB is turned on, so that the mirror system does not start its scanning operation for exposure. As a result, an image of irregular exposure timing is not formed. When, moreover, the mirror system leaves its stop position after the copy cycle and before the print button PB is turned on, a CL-2 is rendered conductive so that the mirror system is returned to its initial stop position. Thus, it is possible to start the image formation from the accurate position at all times.
