Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a stable and efficient termination of the motor vehicle even if the two brake systems are normally operated or if one of them is in trouble under an application on the hydraulic control device having a specific structure.
CONSTITUTION: Hydraulic pressure control device 10 comprising a proportioning valve 10a and a control part 10b for controlling the operation of the proportioning valve is connected to a master cylinder 1, front wheel cylinders 3, 3' and rear wheel cylinders 6, 6'. When in normal operation of the dual brake system, the passages 4, 5 are communicated with each other, so that the pressure from the master cylinder 1 is fed into the front wheel cylinders 3, 3' and at the same time fed to the rear wheel cylinders 6, 6' to control the front and rear wheels via the hydraulic control device 10. To the contrary, when in a case of damaged front brake, the control piston 21 is forced against the valve piston 13 to increase the rear wheel cylinder pressure and thereby a rational or ideal braking force is fed.
