Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate distilled zinc into Cd-containing Zn and Pb and Fe-containing Zn for recovery by subjecting molten distilled zinc containing Cd, Pb, Fe, etc., to a vacuum distillation at a specific temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The distilled zinc 20 containing 1.0 to 1.8% Pb, 0.03 to 0.09% Cd, and 0.012 to 0.024% Fe is introduced from the cooling and tapping well 16 into the vacuum container 1 through the leveling tank 11. In the vacuum container 1, it is passed through the evaporating trough 2 heated to 450 to 600°C by the heating and temperature holding apparatus 17, whereupon Cd and Zn are evaporated and then purified Zn and Cd-containing Zn are condensed at the purified Zn condenser 3 and the Cd-containing Zn condenser 4, respectively, each being provided with the cooler 23, and then stored in the storage tanks 12 and 13. The purified Zn in the storage tank 12 contains <0.02% Cd and <0.05% Pb. And, the Cd-containing Zn in the storage tank 13 is sent to a Cd and Zn separator to separate them into Cd and Zn.
