Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve safety and fail safety by operation a voltage comparator which is fed with the output power of a combustion detector as an input, adding the output of the comparator with the oscillation frequency of an oscillator to form an AC component, and feeding the AC component to a fuel valve drive unit. CONSTITUTION:A combustion safety device comprises a combustion detector 6 which detects combustion flame; a voltage comparator 5 which is fed with the output of the detector 6 as an input; an oscillator 7 incorporating a voltage comparator 8 which adds an AC component to the comparator 5; a fuel valve drive unit 12 which functions, according to the action of the comparator 5 and to the oscillation frequency of the oscillator 7, to control a fuel valve; a delay circuit 9 fed with the AC output signal of the comparator 5 as an input; and a power comparator 11 which is fed with the output of the circuit 9 as an input, and the output of which is fed to the reference voltage terminal of the comparator 5. This constitution enables rapid detection of ignition and flame out of the combustion flame, improving safety, fail safety, and operatability.
