Abstract
PURPOSE: A flame-retardant polycarbonate resin composition having improved impact resistance without emitting noxious gases on burning, comprising a polycarbonate resin and at least one type of alkyl, aralkyl, aryl ester of phosphonic, phosphoric, and boric acids having at least one alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl group substituted by an alkali (earth) metal sulfonate group.
CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising a polycarbonate and at least one type of compound selected from alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl esters of phosphonic, phosphonous, phosphinic, phosphinous, phosphoric, phosphorous, and boric acids having at least one alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl group substituted by an alkali (earth) metal sulfonate group. The sure flame retardancy of the composition is probably due to the homogeneous dispersion of the ester of phosphonic, phosphoric, boric acids of having metal sulfonate group in the polycarbonate resin bacause of the good compatibility with the resin.
