Abstract

PURPOSE: To arrange optical fiber units regularly without any disturbance, even if a cover winding is removed during a cable connection, thereby to facilitate discrimination of optical fibers fitted therein by adhering shaping longitudinal tapes to each other at their outer sides and further to a core.
CONSTITUTION: A longitudinal tape 1 such as a polyester tape is shaped into a V-, U- or dish-shaped cross-section by means of an eyed plate 8. An adhesive 5 is applied from its container 10 to the outer side of the tape 1 shaped. Optical fiber units 3 receiving an optical fiber 2 in their shaped groove are adhered to each other by means of a die 9 and are arranged in a circular shape. A cover winding 4 of polyester tape is formed on the circumference of the fiber units 3.
