Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the displacement of a chuck datum surface position correctly by providing a workpiece on a movable part of an automatic lathe and providing a measuring device movably near the spindle head so as to be able to contact with the chuck datum surface, and by operating the measuring device with the workpiece.
CONSTITUTION: A workpiece 9 attached to the turret head 8a of a slide 8 is moved from point a to point d, and here the workpiece 9 is coupled with the coupler 12a of the main body, and is further moved to point e and the main body 12 is pulled out to a position shown with two-dot lines.
