Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure the displacement of a chuck datum surface position correctly by providing a workpiece on a movable part of an automatic lathe and providing a measuring device movably near the spindle head so as to be able to contact with the chuck datum surface, and by operating the measuring device with the workpiece.
CONSTITUTION: A workpiece 9 attached to the turret head 8a of a slide 8 is moved from point a to point d, and here the workpiece 9 is coupled with the coupler 12a of the main body, and is further moved to point e and the main body 12 is pulled out to a position shown with two-dot lines. During the movement, the contactor of the measuring device 11 outputs an output voltage corresponding to the displacement relative to the surface of a coil left on a datum surface at the back of a chuck 3, and the measured value is inputted to the first register 17 via a cable 15 and an A/D converter 16. Next, machining is carried out, then similar measuring is executed, the difference between the previously measured value and that of this time is calculted by an arithmetic circuit 19, this difference is inputted to an NC device 20 and machining is carried out again realizing a reduced error.
