Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent electric shock of boosting transformers due to deterioration in the insulation by making the insulating capacity between the secondary coil and the primary coil higher than that between the secondary coil and the iron core with the iron core connected in short circuit to the package.
CONSTITUTION: In a boosting transformer 9 for supplying a voltage boosted from a pole transformer 16 to a equipment requiring high voltage such as electronic oven range with a magnetron, the iron core 9b is connected to the package of the equipment. To make the insulating capacity between the primary coil 9a and the iron core higher than that of between the iron core to which an insulator 13 is applied and the secondary coil 9c, the insulation between the primary coil 9a and the iron core 9b has a double construction composed of insulators 10 and 11 and a metal plate 12. With such an arrangement, the equivalent resistance R4 between the primary coil 9a and the secondary coil 9c becomes larger than that R3 between the iron core 9b and the secondary coil 9c when deterioration is caused in the insulation, whereby large current is checked from flowing through a human body when it touches the package 8.
