Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable reading out of charge accumulated in image information storing member, when needed, as an electric signal, by applying an electric field, heat, or the like to a combination of a specified strong dielectric layer and a photoconductive layer to change spontaneous polarization of the strong dielectric layer.
CONSTITUTION: Image information is stored as spontaneous polarization of strong dielectric layer 3 such as a PLZT thin film in storing member 8 of image information consisting of layer 3, conductive electrode 4 such as aluminum deposited on one side by vacuum evaporation, and photoconductive layer 2 coated on the other side. Then, nesa glass 29 coated thinly with glycerin is applied to layer 2. CO2 laser beam 31a is irradiated from laser beam generator 31 and scanning mirror 31b scans in the arrow direction. An electric signal of stored information read out of layer 3 where polarization state is broken down by heat, is amplified by amplifier 35 and provided to monitor 38 of a CRT or the like synchronizing with scanning of mirror 31b by scan control circuit 39 controlling transmission output circuit 37 and movement of mirror 31b by distributor 36.
