Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title compounds effectively by the contact of aliphatic alcohols and carbon monoxide under pressure in the presence of platinum group metals or their salts as a catalyst, and nitric acid and/or nitrogen dioxide, without the need of keeping the reaction system anhydrous.
