Abstract

PURPOSE: Physiologically active substance complestatin. Chracteristics thereof are as follows: yellow powder; turns brown at 240°C and black at 260°C; specific rotation[α]2D5=+24.5° (C=0.13, a mixed solution of methnol and 0.01N NaOH): elementary analysis: C 54.14%, H 3.99%, N 6.96%, C l15.47%, S 0%, o 19.44%; acid dissociation constant pKa'=5.2, 8.3 (measured in 66% dimethylformamide); molecular weight: 743 (calculated average value); UV absorption spectrum shows the peaks at 283mμ (E1 1%cm=200) and 290mμ (E1 1%cm=205) in acidic methanol solution; e
