Abstract

PURPOSE:To render it possible to fabricate an optical fiber of high quality by incorporating an ionisable argon into starting gases using as a heating source a high-frequency plasma due to a high-frequency electromagnetic field, and cooling said starting gases by wind or water to thereby maintain said gases at a given temperature.
