Abstract

PURPOSE: A process for preparing high quality acicular pitch coke from hydrocarbons obtained by removing a quinoline-insoluble component from a hydrocarbon containing quinoline-insoluble components and condensed-ring aromatic compounds (e.g. coal tar, coal tar pitch, gas tar etc.).
