Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the production of abnormal sounds due to insufficient, or looseness of an inner lens. SOLUTION: An inner lens 4 of the lamp 1 is fixed with the pinching of either one of a housing 2 or an outer lens 3 and an excess thickness part 5 produced by plate welding of the housing 2 and the outer lens 3. The fixation utilizes the excess thickness part 5, which is produced by plastic deformation, when the housing 2 and the outer lens 3 are welded. Thus, the difference in dimensions and the like of the locking end 4a of the inner lens 4 by a manufacturing error or the like is absorbed by plasticity.

Description of the Related Art An example of the structure of a conventional lens-welded vehicle lamp 90 having an inner lens is disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2-94301 by the same applicant. As shown in the drawing, a step portion 92a is provided in which the outer diameter of the inner lens 91 is dropped and fitted to the inner diameter of the housing 92.

[0004] When assembling the lens welding type vehicle lamp 90 having the above-described components, the end surface 92b of the housing 92 and the end surface 93a of the outer lens 93 are heated and melt-softened by a hot plate (hot plate). If the inner lens 91 is dropped into the step portion 92a and the housing 92 and the outer lens 93 are pressed and joined by welding, the inner lens 91 is sandwiched and fixed between the housing 92 and the outer lens 93.

However, in the lens-welded type vehicle lamp 90 having the above-described structure, in actual implementation, a manufacturing error occurs in each of the inner lens 91, the housing 92, and the outer lens 93. This is unavoidable, and a state where the end surface 91a of the inner lens 91 and the end surface 92b of the housing 92 are not flush with each other often occurs.

[0006] Further, the degree of softening between the housing 92 and the outer lens 93 also varies due to differences in work, such as the temperature of the hot plate and the length of time of application, so that the outer lens 93 after welding is formed. This also causes a difference in the position of the end surface 93a, so that, for example, the end surface 91a of the inner lens 91 is
If it is lower than 2b, or if the heating is insufficient, the holding by the outer lens 93 becomes insufficient,
This causes rattling and noise during traveling.

On the other hand, when the end surface 91a of the inner lens 91 is long, the welding between the housing 92 and the outer lens 93 is not sufficiently performed, and the strength is insufficient.
There will be problems such as a decrease in the airtightness of the lamp body due to the formation of a gap, and in order to maintain uniformity of quality, there are problems such as complicated processes and complicated management.
The solution of these points is an issue.
