Stapler with tip bending mechanism
The present invention relates to a stapler for driving staples into an object such as a bundle of paper.
About.
Such a stapler injects a substantially U-shaped staple and staples the object.
A driving member arranged to drive the leg of the staple and a driving member
Gaps are formed between them to receive the staple legs, and the ends of each leg are
Two parallel wall members with guide surfaces for guiding during the gap
Two anvil portions disposed and each rotatable about an axis substantially perpendicular to the wall member
Material. These anvil members are pivotable between a starting position and a final position.
Noh. In this starting position, the anvil member pushes staples into the object.
So that the free ends of the staple legs abut the respective anvil members when
Is located. In the final position, the anvil member pivots from the starting position to the final position.
The projecting ends of the legs driven into the object close to each other.
Bend in the right direction.
A stapler of this type is disclosed in EP 0,322,906.
You. In this known stapler, the tip bending mechanism strikes the object so as to penetrate it.
The part of the staple legs that protrude from the target is the staple web.
Staple legs overlap each other in the bending operation when longer than
It is set as follows. To this end, the rotatable anvil member is a staple
The legs are adjacent in the gap to bend in two parallel planes. these
Each of the anvil members is disposed adjacent to the wall member, and each wall member is
A guide surface for guiding the end of the
doing. Thus, each anvil member has a guide surface on one side only,
Move away from the object and place the end of the leg on one side of the anvil member opposite the guide surface.
When positioned, and thus not in contact with the anvil member, the legs bend
It has the disadvantage that it cannot be performed. This is because the object is thin relative to one anvil member.
Especially when the object is thick relative to the other anvil member
.
Inspection by the method disclosed and described in EP 0,412,143.
In a stapler of the type described above, the above-mentioned problem is caused by the mutual
This is solved by two guide surfaces which are arranged immediately before and cooperate. But this
In the basic configuration of the tip bending mechanism, the stapler is configured such that each anvil member is
The shoulder of the wall member opposite the wall member where the linked anvil member is located nearby
It differs from the above-mentioned stapler by being formed in the protruding portion. Or
Thus, for each anvil member, the auxiliary guide surface of the anvil member is formed on top.
The protruding part is bent by the staple legs bent by the other anvil member.
Constitutes an end point regulation section for the gap portion to be formed. Thus, this leg
The object on which staples are driven is thin, and the legs protruding from the object
Said portion of the gap if the length of the portion constitutes the majority of the total length of the leg
It must be of a limited length to fit within.
Thus, it is an object of the present invention that the above problem of guiding the legs limits the length of the gap
Provide stapler with tip bending mechanism set to be solved without
It is to be.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in the manner described in the method of introduction and at the wall.
An intermediate member parallel to the material divides the gap into two adjacent gaps
So that each anvil member is arranged in each gap.
And the intermediate member cooperates with a guide surface of one of the wall members to form an end of one of the legs.
Guide surface that guides the part into one gap and the guide surface of the other wall member
And a guide surface for guiding the end of the other leg into the other gap.
Achieved by a stapler characterized by:
The guide surfaces of each cooperating pair preferably consist of inclined surfaces located immediately before each other.
Good.
Suitably, said anvil member is pivotally supported on said intermediate member on both sides thereof.
ing.
The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a front portion of the stapler according to the present invention in a cutaway manner.
FIG. 2 is an exploded view of components included in the tip bending mechanism of the stapler.
FIG. 3 is a top view of the tip bending mechanism.
FIGS. 4 and 5 are diagrams illustrating the function of the tip bending mechanism when binding a thin bundle of paper.
It is.
6 and 7 are views for explaining the function of the tip bending mechanism when binding a thick bundle of paper.
It is.
FIGS. 8 and 9 show the tip bending operation when binding a thin bundle and a thick bundle of paper, respectively.
It is a figure showing the state of the staple after work.
The drawings show only those parts of the stapler of the present invention that are essential to the present invention. Bundle 1 (
4 to 7), the illustrated stapler particularly intended for binding a sheet of paper
Has a base 2 and a driving member 3. This driving member has a U-shaped
The staples 4 are ejected from a magazine (not shown), and the staples 4
The sections 4a and 4b are set to stab.
The base 2 is shown only in the front part in FIGS.
And two fixed lugs 5 with Furthermore, the base 2 has two protruding fronts.
And has two lower protrusions 8 protruding forward.
The stapler has a tip bending mechanism 9. This tip bending mechanism 9 is
It has an upper piece 10 having an inverted U-shaped cross section. The leg of the upper piece 10 is a vertical wall
Members 10a and 10b are formed, and these wall members are parallel to each other and have a gap therebetween.
The step 11 is formed. The web 10c of the upper piece 10 has a central portion for staples.
It has an opening 12. This opening communicates with the gap 11. The two
The wall members 10a and 10b are respectively provided with mounting flanges 13a and 13b protruding in the lateral direction.
Have.
In the portion where the opening 12 is formed, the wall members 10a and 10b
It has inclined surfaces 14a and 14b. These inclined surfaces 14a and 14b can be used when necessary.
The upper end of the wall member to guide the staple legs 4a, 4b into the gap 11.
Is formed. The center distance between these inclined surfaces 14a and 14b is
It is equal to the distance between the legs 4a, 4b.
The upper piece 10 is arranged on a substantially plate-shaped bottom piece 15. this
The bottom piece is parallel to the wall members 10a, 10b of the top piece 10 in the gap 11,
The gap 11 is divided into two adjacent gap portions 11a and 11b (FIG. 3).
Partition walls are formed. Same as the upper ends of the wall members 10a and 10b in the area of the opening 12.
The upper end of the bottom piece 15 located at the level has two inclined surfaces 16a and 16b.
. These inclined surfaces 16a, 16b are arranged immediately before the inclined surfaces 14a, 14b.
And the staple legs 4a, 4b in the gap portions 11a, 11b in cooperation with these.
To guide you.
The bottom piece 15 has two pins 17 near its upper end. These pins are
, Projecting horizontally in opposite directions to each other, and forming a corresponding recess 18 on the opposite side of the bottom piece 15.
It is. Each of the pins 17 has a circular cross section, and each of the gap portions 11a,
It has a length equal to the width of 11b. These pins 17 are respectively connected to the gap portions 11a,

(Not shown).
When the driving member 3 drives the staple legs 4a and 4b into the bundle 1 of paper,
The tips of the legs hit the anvil members 19a, 19b and are shown in FIG.
4, and also bent inward as shown in FIG. 6 for the thick bundle 1 of paper.
When the staples have been completely driven in, the drive members are moved to the anvil members 19a, 19a.
b is rotated from the starting position to the final position. As a result, the staple legs 4a, 4b
Is bent so as to abut the lower side of the paper bundle 1 (FIGS. 5 and 7). That is, stay
The pull is bent with respect to the bundle of paper. At the point where this tip is bent,
4a, 4b extend parallel to each other with a slight distance from each other. This distance is
