First, the inward flange 34 of the union nut 30 is opposed to the butting portion 24 of the second joint member 20 (see FIG. 7). Then, the inward flange 34 of the union nut 30 is externally fitted to the second joint member 20, and the union nut 30 is advanced in the direction of arrow A to bring the inward flange 34 into contact with the metal ring 29 (see FIG. 8). At this time, one side of the metal ring 29 abuts one side wall of the annular groove 22,
The other side is in contact with the outer peripheral side of the inclined surface of the entrance tapered surface 37.

Further, when the union nut 30 is pushed in the direction of arrow A, the metal ring 29 gradually reduces its annular outer diameter against metal elasticity due to the advance of the inclined surface of the inlet tapered surface 37 (FIG. 9). Finally, it has the same diameter as the inner peripheral surface 35 of the inward flange 34.

Subsequently, the metal ring 29 expands in diameter by metal elasticity below the inward flange 34 so that the union nut 3

Due to the diameter expansion, approximately 1/2 of the wire diameter protrudes from the outer periphery of the main body 21 to form an outward flange that is loosely fitted into the annular groove 22. Therefore, the inward flange 34 of the union nut 30
5 is engaged with the metal ring 29 in the axial direction to prevent the union nut 30 from being pulled out in the direction of the abutting portion 24 as shown in FIG.

At this time, the inner side surface 36 of the inward flange 34 of the union nut 30 engages with the metal ring 29 of the second joint member 20, and as the union nut 30 rotates,
The annular packing 25 of the butting portion 24 is brought into close contact with the butting surface 14 via the metal ring 29 and the annular groove 22 (see FIG. 12). Thereby, the first joint member 10 and the second joint member 2

The removed jig 50 and the union nut 30 are rotated in opposite directions to separate the union nut 30 from the jig 50. The present invention is not limited to the above description and examples, The embodiment can be changed without departing from the technical idea of the present invention. For example, the chamfer angle of the inlet tapered surface of the union nut can be freely set. In addition, when the union nut is fitted to the second joint member, if a jig capable of reducing the annular outer diameter of the metal ring is used together, the same operation and effect can be obtained even if the above-described inlet tapered surface is omitted. Can be. Further, in the above description, the first and second joint members have been shown as being integrated with a gas meter or a T-shaped tube, but it is a matter of course that a normal pipe connection structure may be used.

As described above, according to the pipe joints of the first and second aspects, since the outward flange of the second tubular joint member is constituted by a metal ring capable of reducing the diameter, it is attached to the second tubular joint member. The union nut can be easily and quickly attached and detached from the joint end side of the second tubular joint member of the union nut even if the tube to be formed is long or a T-shaped tube.
