【発明の効果】以上述べた如く、本発明によれば、次の
如き優れた効果を発揮する。 (1) コーターロールを経て下流側へ走行する原紙の表面
に、上方の給液ヘッドからカーテン状に流下された塗工
液を塗布して塗工するようにしてある塗工装置におい
て、上記原紙への塗工液の塗工位置の上流側に、該塗工
位置に先端が位置するようにエア遮断板を配置し、且つ
該エア遮断板の上流側にエア吸引ヘッダーを設置して、
該エア吸引ヘッダーのエア吸引ノズルの先端を、上記エ
ア遮断板の後端に近接して位置させた構成としてあるの
で、原紙の走行により塗工位置付近まで運ばれてきたエ
アをエア遮断板にて遮断することができると共に、エア
吸引ノズルにて吸引除去することができ、したがって、
エアの紙幅方向への流出を防止することができることに
より、塗工液のカーテンにエアの影響による乱れを与え
ることなく、塗工作業を安定して行うことができ、又、
エア遮断板の先端で掻き取られた紙粉もエア吸引ノズル
により同時に吸引することができ、エア遮断板先端部に
紙粉を堆積させてしまうことを防止することができる。 (2) エア吸引ノズルの上方で上流側に延在するように配
置した保持部材の前端にエア遮断板を接続し、且つ該保
持部材の後端を、ヒンジに接続して、該ヒンジに設けた
レバーと固定側との間にばね部材を設け、原紙に対する
エア遮断板先端の接触圧を調整できるようにした構成と
することにより、原紙が上下に変動しても、エア遮断板
の原紙への接触状態を一定に維持することができる。 (3) 保持部材の前端部下面とエア吸引ノズルの先端部上
面との間に閉塞部材を介在させた構成とすることによ
り、該保持部材とエア吸引ノズルとの間の隙間からのエ
アの侵入を防ぐことができ、エア吸引ノズルの吸引能力
にロスを生じさせることなく確実に吸引を行うことがで
きる。 (4) 閉塞部材を弾性板とし、該弾性板の一端を保持部材
の前端部下面又はエア吸引ノズルの先端部上面に取り付
けて、他端をエア吸引ノズルの先端部上面又は保持部材
の前端部下面に圧接させるようにした構成とすることに
より、保持部材の変位を弾性板で吸収することができ、
常時閉塞機能を確保することができる。 (5) エア遮断板を保持部材に保持させることに代えて、
エア遮断板の後端部を、エア吸引ノズルの先端部に接続
した構成とすることにより、エア遮断板とエア吸引ノズ
ルとを一体連設配置とすることができ、簡単な構成でエ
ア吸引ノズルの吸引力を有効に働かせることができる。 (6) エア遮断板の後端部を、エア吸引ノズルの先端部に
ヒンジ接続させ、エア遮断板を上下方向へ傾動自在とし
た構成とすることにより、原紙の上下方向の変動に対し
てエア遮断板自体を追従変位させることができて、原紙
に対する接触性を容易に維持することができる。
