Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an excellent effect in varieties as a mosaic by an arrangement of glass pieces of which the shapes and the colors are different by a method wherein on the total surfaces or one surface of an irregular glass piece, a glaze which melts at the melting temperature or lower of the corner parts is applied, and after heating the glass piece to the melting temperature, the glass piece is cooled. SOLUTION: On the total surfaces or one surface of an irregular glass piece 1, a glaze which melts at the melting temperature or lower of the corner parts of the glass piece 1, is applied, and after heating the glass piece 1 to the melting temperature, the glass piece 1 is cooled. Thus, the glass piece 1 is placed under a state wherein only the corner parts are molten and rounded while keeping the overall shape, and it is safe even when being touched by hand, and at the same time, glass pieces of various shapes can be formed, and also, by using various glazes of which the color developments are different, there is an effect wherein by an arrangement of the glass pieces 1 with different shapes and colors, the interest as a mosaic is excellent. Also, mosaic pieces for which desired colorings are applied, and which have transparent feel, and a beautiful appearance different from mosaic pieces made of ceramic can be manufactured.

2. Description of the Related Art
Most of the glass waste is landfilled as waste, and some of it is used as mosaic pieces. However, the manufacturing method is to crush the glass waste into powder, mix it with other raw materials, and press-mold. The post-firing process not only complicates the process and increases the cost, but also has a problem that the arrangement as a mosaic is not interesting because the shape is fixed.

Means for Solving the Problems, Means and Effects As a means for solving such problems, the invention of claim 1 is directed to a method of forming a glass piece having an irregular shape on the entire surface or on one surface thereof at a melting temperature of a corner of the glass piece. A glaze that melts at the following temperature is applied, and the glass piece is heated to the melting temperature and then cooled, and only the corners are melted while maintaining the shape of the glass piece as a whole. Because it is rounded, it is safe to touch with your hands, it can be made in various shapes, and by using various glazes with different colors, the arrangement of glass pieces with different shapes and colors There is an effect that the mosaic is interesting, and the invention of claim 2 heats the glass pieces by placing them in a sagger covered with powder that does not melt at the melting temperature of glass such as alumina. Ik pieces not only there is no fear of fusing the sagger, there is an effect that can be stuck firmly to the substrate becomes lower surface rough surface corresponding to the sagger mosaic pieces.
