Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a surface property and a feeling which are close to fabric by a method wherein a release treatment surface is formed on the surface of a thermoplastic resin layer which is provided on a base body. SOLUTION: A picture pattern 4 is formed by heat-transferring an ink to the surface of a heat-transfer layer 3 of a heat-transfer sheet by a heat-transfer type printer, by using a heat-melting type heat-transfer ink ribbon. Then, the picture pattern 4 is superposed on a body 5 to be transferred such as a fabric, and after heating and pressing them by an iron or the like, the heat-transfer sheet is peeled, and thus, the heat-transfer layer 3 is left on the body 5 to be transferred. In order to improve the surface property of the picture pattern part which is transferred in such a manner, the heat-transfer finishing sheet wherein a release treatment surface 10 is formed on the surface of a thermoplastic resin layer 9 being provided on a base body 8, is used, and a finishing sheet 7 is superposed in such a manner that the release treatment surface 10 may come into contact with the picture pattern part, and a finishing treatment is applied by heating and pressing by an iron or the like from the base body 8 side.

2. Description of the Related Art A conventional thermal transfer sheet thermally transfers an existing pattern formed by silk screen printing or the like on a sheet subjected to a release treatment to a T-shirt or the like, and these mainly use a so-called rubber-based resin. The heat transfer resin used was used, and a problem occurred in the surface properties and texture of the transferred picture portion after the heat transfer. In order to improve this, a method has been proposed in which, after heat transfer of a pattern, the surface of the transferred pattern is finely molded by using an embossed release paper to improve the surface properties. However, the embossed pattern did not match the texture of the T-shirt or the like as the transferred body, and the surface properties unique to the texture could not be obtained, which was not satisfactory. In addition to the improvement of the surface properties, there is also a demand for the improvement of the texture and the air permeability of the transferred picture portion. Recently, for example, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 60-230899,
It has been proposed to create an original pattern using an electrostatic copying machine and thermally transfer the pattern. This method using an electrostatic copying machine lacks personality because the electrostatic copying machine is expensive. Further, since heat is applied during the toner fixing process of the electrostatic copying machine and the resin of the thermal transfer layer is melted during fixing, the melt flow rate (M
Since a resin having a low FR) is used, it is difficult to impart a texture of a cloth or the like to an object to be transferred such as a cloth.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The formation of a thermal transfer pattern using a thermal transfer sheet will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1, the structure of the thermal transfer sheet (1) includes a base (2) and a thermal transfer layer (3) provided on the base (2). In order to form a pattern (4) using the thermal transfer sheet (1), as shown in FIG. 2, for example, a thermal fusion type thermal transfer ink ribbon is used, and an ink is applied to the surface of the thermal transfer layer (3) by a thermal transfer type printer. Is thermally transferred. When the obtained pattern (4) is thermally transferred to a cloth or the like as a heat transfer target, the pattern (4) formed on the thermal transfer layer (3) is inverted by the thermal transfer, so that the pattern (4) is formed by a thermal transfer printer. The picture (4) is formed as an inverted image. In order to thermally transfer the pattern (4) formed in this manner to a transfer object, as shown in FIG. 3, an unnecessary portion of the thermal transfer layer (3) is cut out together with the substrate (2), and thereafter, FIG. As shown in the picture (4)
The surface is superimposed on the cloth (5), which is the object to be transferred, and as shown in FIG. 4 (b), heating and pressing are performed from the side of the base (2) with an iron or hot press (not shown). 4), the substrate (2) is peeled off, and as shown in FIG. 4 (d), the thermal transfer layer (3) is left on the cloth (5), which is an object to be transferred, to form a thermal transfer pattern (6). The heat transfer finished sheet of the present invention is used to improve the surface properties of the picture portion transferred to the transfer object and improve the texture.

The substrate (8) used for the finish sheet (7) of the present invention may be a sheet-like material having heat resistance enough to withstand heat and pressure during the finishing process. Specifically, papers such as high-quality paper, art paper, coated paper, glassine paper, and impregnated paper, and plastic films such as polyester, polyimide, and polycarbonate can be used, but are not limited thereto. The thermoplastic resin layer (9) may be any material that can be softened by heating such as ironing or hot pressing, and examples thereof include polyethylene, polystyrene, and ionomer resins.
Further, the surface of the thermoplastic resin layer (9) is subjected to a release treatment.

[0007] In performing the finishing step by using this, as shown in FIG. 5 (a), the release-treated surface (10) of the finishing sheet (7) is placed on the transfer pattern thermally transferred to the transfer object. The finished sheets (7) are stacked so as to be in contact with each other, and heating and pressurization are again performed from the side of the base (8) with an iron or a hot press (not shown). As a result, as shown in FIG. 5 (b), the transfer layer (3) thermally transferred as the thermoplastic resin of the finished sheet (7) is deformed along the cloth by heating is pushed into the cloth. Penetrates into the fibers from the fabric surface. Thereby, the appearance of the fabric surface is improved, and the texture can be improved. Further, since the transfer layer (3) is pushed into the fibers of the fabric or is fixed along the fibers, the transfer layer becomes discontinuous and air permeability is provided.

As described above, according to the thermal transfer finished sheet of the present invention, the surface property of a thermal transfer pattern obtained by thermally transferring a pattern created using an electrostatic copying machine or a thermal transfer printer to a porous transfer object is improved. This has the effect of improving the texture and the ventilation. In particular, when the object to be transferred is a cloth, there is an effect that the texture of the transferred picture portion becomes closer to the cloth.
