Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain payment of a calling charge via a prepaid card system using an IC card by adding an IC card reader to a portable telephone set. SOLUTION: A portable telephone set 1 is provided with a reader 2 which can read a prepaid card of an IC card system. An IC card 3 is used as a reader for the telephone set 1 of a prepaid card system. Then a calling charge is prepaid via a telephone set using the card 3.
