Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely identify the truth/false of paper sheets in simple configuration by irradiating the paper sheets with ultraviolet rays, detecting visible light due to fluorescent reaction from reflected light and discriminating the paper sheets as false when there is a fluorescent output except for a fluorescent reaction part formed on the paper sheets. SOLUTION: Inserted paper sheets 1 are irradiated with ultraviolet rays A by an ultraviolet irradiating device 3, and the visible light due to the fluorescent reaction is detected out of reflected light B from the paper sheets 1 irradiated with the ultraviolet rays by a visible light photodetection sensor 4. A discrimination part 6 connected to the visible light photodetection sensor 4 discriminates a paper money as false when there is the fluorescent reaction over the entire paper money in the visible light detected by the visible light photodetection sensor 4. In this case, the ultraviolet irradiating device 3 and the visible light photodetection sensor 4 are arranged at positions for irradiating the surface of a path line on a fluorescent reaction part 2 of the paper sheets 1 with the ultraviolet rays A from the ultraviolet irradiating device 3 and photodetecting its reflected light B through the visible light photodetection sensor 4.

However, the conventional paper sheet identification method shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 has the following various problems. First, since the fluorescence reaction of the fluorescence reaction part 2 is determined from the reflected light, a fluorescence sensor 4 for receiving the reflected light is provided as shown in FIG.
In this case, as shown in FIG. 9, the insertion pattern of the bill into the identification device is such that the fluorescent reaction portion 2 is below the front surface, above the front surface, below the rear surface, below the rear surface, and above the rear surface. In order to cope with this, as shown in FIG. 10, four sets of the ultraviolet irradiation device 3 and the fluorescent sensor 4 must be prepared and installed at the above-mentioned locations. However, there has been a problem that the configuration is complicated and the cost is increased. In addition, in the configuration of the identification device as shown in FIG. 8, a light receiving sensor that can capture all visible light regions must be used, and a plurality of such optical receiving systems having sensitivity in all visible light regions are required. Since it is composed of a light receiving sensor, there is a problem that the configuration is complicated and the cost is increased. The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a paper sheet identification device capable of reliably identifying authenticity of a paper sheet with a simple configuration.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, the present invention will be described based on illustrated embodiments. FIG. 1 is a configuration diagram showing a first embodiment of a paper sheet identification device according to the present invention. In the first embodiment, the fake usually seen in paper sheets such as banknotes is a black and white or color copy, and when the paper used for the copy is irradiated with ultraviolet rays, the paper shows a fluorescent reaction and shines pale. As shown in (b), when there is a fluorescent reaction over the entire banknote (that is, when a fluorescent output is generated in a part other than the fluorescent reaction part 2), it is determined to be a fake regardless of the fluorescent reaction part 2. . For this reason, as shown in FIG. 1, this paper sheet identification device applies ultraviolet light A to the inserted paper sheet 1.
And a visible light receiving sensor 4 for detecting visible light due to a fluorescence reaction from the reflected light B from the paper sheet 1 irradiated with the ultraviolet light. Is arranged at a predetermined position, and is connected to the visible light receiving sensor 4 so as to determine the bill as a fake when the visible light detected by the visible light receiving sensor 4 has a fluorescence reaction over the entire bill. The configuration is such that the determination unit 6 is arranged. The positions of the ultraviolet irradiation device 3 and the visible light receiving sensor 4 are such that the ultraviolet rays A from the ultraviolet irradiation device 3 are radiated on the pass line P on the fluorescent reaction portion 2 of the paper sheet 1, The arrangement position is such that the visible light receiving sensor 4 receives the light B.
The ultraviolet irradiation device 3 and the visible light receiving sensor 4
May be set such that the ultraviolet ray A is irradiated to a place other than the pass line P.

Next, the operation of the first embodiment of the paper sheet identification apparatus will be described with reference to FIG. 2A and 2B are explanatory diagrams of a sheet identification operation in the first embodiment, and FIG. 2A illustrates a state in which the sheet is irradiated with ultraviolet light.
(B) shows the output waveform of the visible light of the reflected light from the paper sheet. First, when the paper sheet 1 is inserted into the paper sheet identification device, as shown in FIG. 2A, the ultraviolet irradiation device 3 puts the ultraviolet light onto the pass line P of the moving paper sheet 1. A is irradiated, and a visible light level is detected from the reflected light B by the visible light receiving sensor 4 as shown in FIG. Then, the detection result from the visible light receiving sensor 4 is sent to the discriminating unit 6, and whether or not the visible light detected by the visible light receiving sensor 4 in the discriminating unit 6 has a fluorescence reaction over the entire banknote. If there is a fluorescent reaction over the entire banknote as shown in FIG. 2B, the paper sheet is determined to be a fake. The discrimination unit 6 may determine that the banknote 1 is genuine, when the entire banknote does not have a fluorescent reaction, or when the entire banknote does not have a fluorescent reaction and the fluorescent reaction part 2 has a fluorescent reaction. The sheet identification device may be properly used depending on the purpose of use.
As described above, according to the first embodiment, when the entire banknote has a fluorescent reaction, it is determined that the banknote is a fake. Therefore, at least one visible light receiving sensor 4 may be provided, and the configuration is simplified. Cost can be reduced.

Next, a second embodiment of the paper sheet identification apparatus according to the present invention will be described.
An embodiment will be described. In the second embodiment, a portion where a fluorescent reaction appears by irradiating ultraviolet rays (fluorescent reaction portion 2)
Is because the ultraviolet light changes to another energy (wavelength) and the amount of transmitted ultraviolet light is smaller than that of other parts that do not show a fluorescent reaction. When the decrease is detected, the paper sheet is determined to be genuine. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3, this paper sheet identification apparatus includes an ultraviolet irradiation device 7 for irradiating the inserted paper sheet 1 with ultraviolet rays C, and the above-described paper sheet 1 irradiated with the ultraviolet light. And a UV detecting sensor 8 for detecting UV light from the transmitted light D transmitted through the UV sensor 8 are disposed at predetermined positions, and a predetermined portion of the UV light detected by the UV light receiving sensor 8 (the fluorescent reaction portion 2) is detected. In the configuration corresponding to ()), a determination unit 9 connected to the ultraviolet light receiving sensor 8 is disposed so as to determine that the ultraviolet light reduction unit E is genuine when there is a reduced portion E of ultraviolet light. And
As shown in FIG. 3, the arrangement position of the first set of the ultraviolet irradiation device 7 and the ultraviolet light receiving sensor 8 corresponds to the case where the fluorescent reaction portion 2 of the paper sheet 1 is below the surface. The ultraviolet ray C from the ultraviolet ray irradiating device 7 is radiated on the pass line P1 on the fluorescent reaction part 2, and the transmitted light D is received by the corresponding ultraviolet ray receiving sensor 8 so as to be arranged. The arrangement position of the second set is such that the ultraviolet rays C from the second set of ultraviolet irradiation devices 7 correspond to the case where the fluorescent reaction portion 2 of the sheet 1 is above the surface. And the corresponding ultraviolet light receiving sensor 8 receives the transmitted light D of the transmitted light D.

Next, the operation of the above-described paper sheet identification apparatus according to a second embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIGS. 4A and 4B are explanatory diagrams of a sheet identification operation in the second embodiment, and FIG. 4A illustrates a state in which the sheet is irradiated with ultraviolet rays.
(B) shows the output waveform of the ultraviolet light transmitted through the paper sheet. First, when the paper sheet 1 is inserted into the paper sheet identification device, as shown in FIG. 4A, the ultraviolet irradiation device 7 moves the paper sheet 1 to the pass lines P1 and P2 of the moving paper sheet 1. UV C
When the fluorescent reaction portion 2 is below the surface, the ultraviolet level is detected by the ultraviolet light receiving sensor 8 from the transmitted light D on the pass line P1 as shown in FIG. . Then, the detection result from the ultraviolet light receiving sensor 8 is sent to the discriminating section 9, and the discriminating section 9 applies an ultraviolet ray to a portion corresponding to a predetermined portion (fluorescent reaction portion 2) of the ultraviolet light detected by the ultraviolet light receiving sensor 8. It is determined whether or not there is a reduced portion E. If the reduced portion E is present, the paper sheet is determined to be genuine. Note that the determination of the paper sheet 1 as a fake by the determination unit 9 is performed when there is no ultraviolet light decreasing portion E in the fluorescent reaction portion 2. As described above, according to the second embodiment, only when there is a reduced portion of ultraviolet light in the fluorescent reaction portion, it is determined to be genuine.
Since the transmitted light can be detected and can be configured by two ultraviolet light receiving sensors, the configuration is simplified and the cost is reduced.

Next, the operation of the third embodiment of the paper sheet identification apparatus will be described with reference to FIG. FIGS. 6A and 6B are explanatory diagrams of a sheet identification operation in the third embodiment, and FIG. 6A illustrates a state in which the sheet is irradiated with ultraviolet rays.
(B) shows the output waveform of the ultraviolet light reflected from the paper sheet. First, when the paper sheet 1 is inserted into the paper sheet identification device, as shown in FIG. 6A, the pass lines P1, P2, P3, P4
When the fluorescent reaction portion 2 is below the surface, the level of the ultraviolet light is lower than the reflected light G on the pass line P1 by the ultraviolet light receiving sensor 11 as shown in FIG.
It is detected as shown in FIG. Then, the detection result from the ultraviolet light receiving sensor 11 is sent to the determination unit 12,
The determination unit 12 determines whether or not a portion corresponding to a predetermined portion (fluorescence responsive portion 2) of the ultraviolet light detected by the ultraviolet light receiving sensor 11 has a reduced portion H of the ultraviolet light. The paper sheet is determined to be genuine. Note that the determination of the paper sheet 1 as a fake by the determination unit 12 is performed when there is no ultraviolet light decreasing portion H in the fluorescent reaction part 2. Thus, according to the third embodiment,
Only when there is a portion where ultraviolet light is reduced in the fluorescent reaction portion is determined to be genuine, an ultraviolet light receiving sensor may be provided, and the configuration becomes simpler and the cost is reduced as compared with the visible light receiving sensor.

As described above, according to the present invention, when the whole banknote has a fluorescent reaction, it is determined that the banknote is a fake.
It suffices to provide at least one visible light receiving sensor, so that the configuration is simplified and the cost can be reduced. In addition, since it is determined that the light is genuine only when there is a reduced portion of the ultraviolet light in the fluorescent reaction portion, the transmitted light can be detected, and the structure can be simplified with a small number of ultraviolet light receiving sensors (two). It also reduces costs. In addition, since it is determined that the light is genuine only when there is a reduced portion of the ultraviolet light in the fluorescent reaction portion, an ultraviolet light receiving sensor may be provided, and the configuration is simpler and the cost is reduced as compared with the visible light receiving sensor. .
