ることができる。As noted above, the present invention provides two substantially parallel and coextensive major surfaces separated by a core thickness, and four edge surfaces joining the coextensive surfaces. A building panel comprising a core of substantially linear foamed plastic material and a reinforcing channel member having a recess and arranged to extend along one of said edges. An edge surface opposite to the edge surface is formed of a protrusion that can be engaged in a recess of a corresponding channel member of an adjacent panel, and the edge surface has a shape matching the contour of the reinforcing member. Thus, it is possible to provide a building panel having a reinforcing channel member on at least one edge thereof, which channel not only reinforces the panel but also provides a means by which adjacent panels can be engaged with each other.
