Description: FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to disposable breastplates, and in particular, tear-resistant breastplates. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Disposable breastplates are known in the art. Such a breastplate may be provided, for example, for use when a baby eats. The disposable breastplate may have a laminate structure that includes a composite layer. For example, disposable breastplates have a topsheet made of absorbent paper that receives spilled ingredients and a backsheet made of synthetic resin film that prevents spilled liquids from reaching the baby's clothing through the breastplate. May be included. This technique also discloses a three-layer breastplate consisting of two sheets of paper and a layer of a thermoplastic resin disposed therebetween. In addition, other breastplate designs shown in the art include gauze, as well as a breastplate having a front panel formed of a synthetic resin film with grooves and holes for catching and holding food. Including a multi-layered breastplate with a decorative layer. Also, this field teaches that it is known to cover a paper bib with an open net or mesh to hold the paper together. The following references disclose various breastplate structures. U.S. Pat. No. 3,286,279 issued to Brown on April 1, 1964, U.S. Pat. No. 3,329,969 issued to Jul. 15, 1965 to Farber et al, and Sep. 1971 to Taranto. U.S. Pat. No. 3,608,092, issued on Sep. 28, 1978 to Gruenwald, and U.S. Pat. No. 3,979,776 issued on Sep. 14, 1976 to Moore et al. U.S. Pat. No. 4,416,025 issued to Ahr; U.S. Pat. No. 4,441,212 issued to Ahr; U.S. Pat. No. 4,445,231 issued to Noel on May 1, 1984; U.S. Pat. No. 4,884,299, issued Dec. 5, 1989. One problem with known disposable breastplates for structures consisting of paper and plastic layers is that the baby can tear pieces of the breastplate. Such tears in the breastplate are undesirable because they reduce the effective covering of the baby's clothing and create extra debris that must be discarded. Attempts to prevent tearing of the breastplate by designing a synthetic resin film that forms a water-resistant backsheet are generally not satisfactory by themselves. Such synthetic resin films have an inherent compromise between strength and flexibility. For example, a relatively strong polymer is less flexible, and the strength gained by making it thicker must be less flexible. Conversely, with the addition of a protective layer on the back, the garment facing the surface of the breastplate does not provide the desired support to the paper topsheet. The addition of a protective layer to the outer front of the breastplate does not provide support to the synthetic resin backsheet, affects the aesthetics of the outer front of the breastplate, and spills on the outer front of the breastplate. Adversely affects the absorption of absorbed liquid. Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a disposable breastplate that can withstand tearing without adversely affecting the absorbency, aesthetics, and flexibility of the breastplate. It is another object of the present invention to provide a disposable breastplate having a multi-layer structure. Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a disposable breastplate having a polymeric net layer disposed between and connected to a paper topsheet layer and a synthetic resin film backsheet layer. To provide. It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a disposable breastplate having a reinforcing network with openings sized to prevent tearing while being able to absorb liquid spilled on the outer layer of the breastplate. Still another object of the present invention is to provide a top sheet of absorbent paper, a back sheet of synthetic resin film, and a reinforcing intermediate layer made of a polymer net, and the reinforcing layer is worn. Having a tension greater than at least one of the topsheet and the backsheet to support the tensile load imposed by the person, and the opening in the net is torn apart the topsheet. The aim is to provide a disposable breastplate that is sized to prevent the wearer from being distracted. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides a disposable breastplate having a composite structure. In one embodiment, the breastplate comprises an absorbent, liquid-permeable outer topsheet, a liquid-impermeable, garment-facing backsheet layer relative to the topsheet, and A fiber network disposed between the sheet and the sheet to support the load. A fibrous (made of filament) network layer may be connected to the opposing faces of the topsheet and the backsheet and have a plurality of openings therethrough, the fibrous network comprising: It may have an open area ratio of at least about 50% or more. This fiber network opening is preferably sized to prevent the baby's finger from passing through the network opening, thereby preventing the baby from tearing the breastplate into a piece of the breastplate. Is done. The breastplate has a topsheet of tissue paper having a first outwardly facing surface and a second oppositely facing surface, and a polymer connected to the second surface of the topsheet. And a net. The polymer net comprises a plurality of first filaments extending substantially parallel to each other in a first direction and a plurality of second filaments extending substantially parallel to each other in a second direction having a predetermined angle with the first direction. And a filament. The maximum spacing between adjacent parallel filaments is no more than about 2 cm, and in one embodiment, the wearer inserts his finger between the filaments and tears the breastplate into strips. About 1 cm or less so as to prevent BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Although the specification concludes with claims pointing out and claiming the invention, the invention is not limited to the accompanying drawings, in which substantially the same elements are provided with the same reference numerals. Will be better understood from the following description with reference to FIG. FIG. 3 is a front plan view of the disposable breastplate according to the present invention, shown in a folded state. FIG. 2 shows that the fibers of the fibrous network extend diagonally to the longitudinal direction and a portion of the backsheet is cut off to show a reinforcing fibrous network located between the topsheet and the backsheet. FIG. 4 is a rear plan view of the disposable breastplate of the present invention, shown in a deflated state. FIG. 3 is a partial cross-sectional view taken along line 3-3 of FIG. 1, showing a fibrous network disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. FIG. 4 is an enlarged schematic view of a part of the fibrous network. FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the disposable breastplate in use. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION FIGS. 1 to 5 show a disposable breastplate 20 according to the present invention. The disposable breastplate 20 has a breastplate body 22 and shoulder extensions 24 and 26 extending from the breastplate body 22 on both sides of a longitudinal centerline 21 of the breastplate. The term "longitudinal" means a direction or line substantially parallel to a line that extends from the wearer's head to the wearer's waist when the breastplate is worn. Also, the term "lateral" means an axis or direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and is generally parallel to a line across the wearer's chest when the breastplate is worn. The breastplate 20 has a perimeter with two substantially longitudinally extending side edges 32, 34, a substantially laterally extending bottom essi 36, and a neck opening 38. The neck opening 38 is located in the middle of the shoulder extension portions 24, 26, and the neck of the wearer enters when the breastplate is worn. Also, the neck opening 38 is a U-shaped opening in FIG. 1, but it will be understood that other neck configurations, including various open and closed shapes, may be used. The following U.S. Patents are incorporated herein by reference for purposes of illustrating various chest pad shapes. U.S. Pat. No. 4,416,025 issued to Moret et al on Nov. 22, 1983, U.S. Pat. No. 4,441,212 issued to Ahr, and Noel issued on May 1, 1984. No. 4,445,231. The breastplate 20 according to the present invention has a composite structure having a composite laminate layer. In the drawing, the breastplate comprises an outer topsheet layer 40 which is absorbent and permeable to liquid, a backsheet layer 80 which is liquid impervious compared to the topsheet 40 and faces the garment, It has a load bearing fiber network 60 disposed between 80 and the topsheet 40. The topsheet 40 has a first outer surface 42 for receiving spilled food and a second inner surface 44. In addition, the back sheet 80 has a first surface 82 facing the clothes and a second surface 84. The surface 84 of the back sheet 80 and the surface 44 of the top sheet 40 face each other. The fiber network 60 has a plurality of openings 70. Opposite surfaces 44, 84 of topsheet 40 and backsheet 80 may extend through opening 70 and be connected to each other. The fiber network 60 can have tensile and tensile elongation characteristics that withstand the load on the breastplate 20 and impart tear resistance to the breastplate 20. In one embodiment, the fiber network 60 comprises a polymer of a first group of substantially parallel filaments (fibers) 62 and a second group of substantially parallel filaments (fibers) 64. Have a net. As shown in FIG. 1, the filament 62 extends substantially in the longitudinal direction, and the filament 64 extends in the lateral direction. However, it will be appreciated that the filaments 62, 64 need not necessarily extend in the longitudinal and lateral directions, and need not extend substantially parallel or perpendicular to one another. For example, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the filaments 62, 64 may extend obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis 21 and have an angle of about 45 ° with respect to the axis 21. The disposable breastplate 20 may additionally have a pocket 100 for capturing and receiving strips of foodstuff. The pocket 100 may have an open edge 110 and a bottom edge 120 (FIG. 2). The above-mentioned U.S. Pat. No. 4,445,231 is described herein as a reference to indicate a suitable structure for pocket 100. The breastplate 20 may have a mounting assembly for holding the breastplate 20 in place for the user. FIG. 5 shows the breastplate 20 held in place by the user. 1 and 2, the attachment assembly has attachment members 202, 204 disposed on the garment-facing surface 82 of the backsheet 80. These attachment members 202, 204 are located on shoulder extensions 24, 26 and may have a plurality of projections 206 that engage the fabric. These projections can take the form of sponges or hooks. These projections 206 protrude from the plane of the breastplate 20. In one embodiment, the respective projections 206 of the shoulder extensions 24, 26 may engage with a cloth of the user's clothing to hold the breastplate 20 in place. In other embodiments, the breastplate may have one or more landing surfaces 210 engageable by protrusions 206. This landing surface 210 may be composed of a nonwoven fabric, is connected to the outer surface 42 of the topsheet 40 and is located on the shoulder extension 24. To ensure the attachment of the breastplate to the wearer, the shoulder extension 24 is positioned behind the wearer's neck with the projections 206 of the attachment member 202 engaged with the landing surface 210. , Are arranged so as to cover the shoulder extension 24. Suitable attachment members 202, 204 are manufactured by 3M Company, Minnesota under the name MC-6, Code KN0513 / KM0514. A suitable landing 210 is a piece of non-woven fabric made of polypropylene fiber manufactured under the name P-14, Supplier Grade # 9324369 by Veratec Division of the International Paper Corporation in Walpole, Mass. Suitable hook and loop attachments are available from VELCR O USA, New Hampshire. Other suitable attachment members with protrusions are disclosed in US Pat. No. 4,846,815 to Scripte on Jul. 11, 1989 and US Pat. U.S. Pat. No. 4,946,527 to Battlell on Aug. 7, 1990; U.S. Pat. No. 5,019,065 to Scripps on May 28, 1991; U.S. Pat. No. 5,058,247, issued to Thomas et al. On Oct. 22, 1991; U.S. Pat. No. 5,116,563, issued to Thomas et al. On May 26, 1992; Thomas et al. U.S. Pat. No. 5,180,534, issued Jan. 19, 1993 to Thomas, U.S. Pat. No. 318,741, U.S. Pat. No. 5,325,569 issued to Gou lait et al on Jul. 5, 1994, and U.S. Pat. No. 5,326 issued to Thomas et al. , 415 are disclosed in the U.S. patents described herein by reference. Alternatively, a strap, tape, or other adhesive fastener may be used to attach the breastplate to the user. In examining the laminate structure of the breastplate 20 in more detail, the topsheet 40 may have a piece of paper having a basis weight of about 10 to about 50 pounds per 3000 cubic feet. The following U.S. patents are described by reference for the purpose of disclosing how to make tissue paper suitable for use in forming topsheet 40. These U.S. Patents are 4,191,609, 4,440,597, 4,529,480, 4,637,859, 5,223,096, and 5,240,562. . Suitable topsheets 40 may be formed from single or composite paper towels such as the Bounty Paper Towel manufactured by The Procter and Gamble Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The back sheet 80 may be formed of a liquid impermeable film. In one embodiment, the backsheet 80 is about 0.5 mm. 0076 millimeters to about 0. It may have a 0508 millimeter thick polyethylene film. The polyethylene film from which the backsheet 80 can be formed is manufactured by Trede gar Industries, Inc. of Telhout, Indiana. The fiber network 60 connects the surfaces 44, 84 of the topsheet 40 and the backsheet 80 to each other by any suitable means including, but not limited to, mechanical bonding, bonding with an adhesive, and ultrasonic bonding. Connected. Also, the fiber network 60 is preferably connected to the surfaces 44, 48 along substantially the entire length of the breastplate 20 and substantially the entire width in the lateral direction. A suitable bond for connecting the fiber network 60 to the topsheet 40 as well as the backsheet 80 is a hotmel bond such as Findley Adhesive H2031, available from Findley Adhesives, Elm Grove, WI. About 3 milligrams of H2031 adhesive per cubic inch of the breastplate area can be used to connect the fiber network 60 to the topsheet 40 as well as the backsheet 80. The fiber network 60 increases the tensile strength of the breastplate 20 and provides a tear resistant breastplate. This fiber network 60 can have a maximum tensile strength (tensile strength measured along the direction in which the fiber network 60 has the highest tensile strength) than the topsheet 40 and the backsheet 80. . This tensile strength can be measured using a percentage of stretch tensile strength test machine, as described below. Different net materials, such as different polymers, can be selected to form a breastplate having different strength, elongation, and flexibility properties. In general, as strength increases, flexibility decreases. The dimensions of the cross-section of the filament and the spacing between adjacent filaments can be selected according to the strength and flexibility of the material from which the filament is formed. For materials having relatively high strength and relatively low flexibility, filaments having relatively small cross-sectional dimensions can be used, and the spacing between adjacent filaments can be relatively long. On the other hand, for materials having relatively low strength and relatively high flexibility, filaments having relatively large cross-sectional dimensions can be used, and the spacing between adjacent filaments can be relatively short. The openings 70 between adjacent filaments of the fiber network 60 allow an infant wearer to grasp the unreinforced area of the topsheet 40 covering the opening 70 and tear this area of the topsheet 40 from the breastplate. It is sized to prevent These openings 70 can be preferably sized smaller than the wearer's fingertips to prevent the wearer from sticking through the topsheet 40 with a finger. Thus, the opening 70 may have a maximum width 74 (FIG. 4) of less than or equal to 2 centimeters. In one preferred embodiment, the opening 70 is no more than about 1 centimeter, preferably about 0,1 cm. 5 cm, and more preferably 0.1 cm. It may have a maximum width 74 of 25 cm or less. The fiber network does not substantially affect the ability of the topsheet 40 to absorb the spilled foodstuff and does not substantially increase the amount of material required to construct the breastplate, Tearing resistance is preferably provided without substantially increasing the rigidity of the breastplate 20. Materials such as thermoplastics exhibit both relatively high strength and relatively high flexibility. Thus, due to the range of widths 74 described above, the filament may have a relatively small cross-sectional dimension 72 (FIG. 4). For example, the cross-sectional dimension 72 is less than about 2 mm, and in one embodiment, the cross-sectional dimension 72 is about 0.5 mm. It can be smaller than 25 mm, thus providing a fiber network 60 with a relatively large open area ratio. The opening area ratio increases as the distance between adjacent filaments increases, and the opening area ratio decreases as the cross-sectional dimension 72 of the filament increases. The opening area ratio of the fiber network 60 is obtained by measuring the area of the opening 70 of a 10 cm × 10 cm square sample of the fiber network 60 and dividing the area of the opening 70 of the sample by the size of the sample (100 cm 2). Is calculated by In the above-described range of width 74 and dimension 72, the open area ratio of fiber network 60 is at least about 50 percent, and in one embodiment at least about 75 percent. The fiber network 60 includes polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, nylon, polyester, polyethylene vinyl acetate, polyethylene methyl methacrylate, polyethylene acrylic acid, polypropylene methyl methacrylate, It may consist of a net of thermoplastic material selected from the group of polypropylene acrylic acid, polyvinylidene chloride, polyvinyl alcohol, cellulose acetate, cellulose butyrate, polycarbonate, and alkyd cellulose. These thermoplastic polymers are for illustration and not limitation. Alternatively, the fiber network may be composed of natural fibers, artificial fibers, or pieces formed by a combination thereof. Suitable natural fibers include, but are not limited to, cotton, flax, wool, silk. Also included are suitable synthetic cellulose, modified synthetic cellulose, or natural synthetic fibers, but are not limited to rayon, acetate, dissolution cells, and glass fibers. The fiber network 60 shown schematically in FIG. 4 may be formed by any suitable technique including, but not limited to, casting, molding, weaving, and knitting. Each filament 62, 64 may have a single strand or multiple strands twisted together. Essentials of Textiles, Third Edition by Marjory L. Joseph, (1984) page 237 discloses a net structure, which is described herein by reference. In one embodiment, the fiber network 60 includes a number of first filaments 62 extending in a first direction substantially parallel to each other and substantially parallel to each other in a second direction having a predetermined angle with the first direction. And a knitted nylon net made up of a number of second filaments 64 extending in the same direction. Each of these filaments 62, 64 consists of two nylon strands. And each strand is about 0. 0 2 mm to 0. It has a diameter of 10 mm, and thus the filaments 62, 64 have a diameter of 0.1 mm. 04 mm to 0. It has a dimension with a maximum cross-sectional width of 20 mm (about twice the individual strand). The maximum width 74 of the opening 70 is about 0. 05 cm to approx. 20 cm. Adjacent filaments of a number of first filaments 62 substantially parallel to each other are spaced apart to provide 6 to 14 filaments 62 per cm, and a plurality of second filaments 64 substantially parallel to each other. Adjacent filaments are spaced to provide 6 to 14 filaments 64 per cm, so that the nylon net has about 25 to about 200 openings 70 per square centimeter. This nylon net is approximately 10. 8 gram basis weight and 0. Under a limiting pressure of 1 psi, about 0.2. 17 mm caliper. Suitable nylon nets are commercially available as nylon tulle from cloth wholesalers and retailers. Such a nylon net is commercially available from Fabri-Centers of America, Handson, Ohio under the trade name SKU-040-1703. FIGS. 1, 2, and 4 show a fiber network 60 consisting of a substantially uniform rectangular filament grid. In other embodiments, the fiber network 60 may be comprised of filaments arranged in a non-uniform manner. Test Methods The following methods are used to measure the tension, bending stiffness, and impact resistance of a sample of a base chest having a topsheet and a backsheet. The same method has the same topsheet and backsheet as the base breastplate, but for measuring the comparative properties of the sample of the breastplate of the present invention with a nylon net further interposed between these topsheet and backsheet. Used for The top sheet is a paper towel of Bounty brand, and the back sheet is about 0. It is a polyethylene film having a thickness of 025 mm. The fiber network 60 is the above nylon net available from Fabri-Centers of America under the trade name SKU-040-1703. Approximately 3 milligrams of H2031 adhesive per square inch of the area of the breastplate, both in the base breastplate and the breastplate with the nylon net according to the present invention, connect the components of the breastplate together. Used between the topsheet and the backsheet. In the breastplate provided with the nylon net according to the present invention, the filaments 62 and 64 are oriented so as to be inclined at about 45 ° with respect to the longitudinal center line 21 as shown in FIG. The breastplate samples were conditioned at 50% RH and 73 ° F for at least 2 hours prior to testing. Tensile Test The tension of the breastplate as well as of the fiber network was measured using the INDA standard test IST 110. from Nonwoven Fabric Industry. It is measured with reference to 1-92. This standard is described here by reference. The breast sample is: It is cut into 00 inch wide sample pieces. The sample is then laid flat in the cons short and rate jaws of the stretch tester Instron Model 4201. One inch line contact grips are used to prevent the sample from slipping. And the samples are: Zero load is pre-tensioned with a gauge length of 0 inches. Force is measured on a 100N load cell and 12.1 per minute until the sample breaks. Recording is performed continuously while being extended at a crosshead speed of 0 inches. In all cases, a partial maximum extension occurs at 1 inch extension. This first peak typically corresponds to a break in the topsheet or, if present, the fiber network. In some cases, the loading on the polyethylene film just before the polyethylene film breaks exceeds the first peak. The force values recorded are reported in grams per inch of width (grams / inch). Properties are reported as the average of at least two measurements. The results of the tensile tests of the base breastplate and the breastplate with the nylon net oriented as shown in FIG. 2 are listed in Table 1. Characteristics were determined for samples cut from the breastplate so that the gauge length of the sample was approximately perpendicular to the breastplate axis 21 (45 ° gauge length relative to the filament in the breastplate with nylon net). On the other hand, it is cut out so as to have a gauge length at an angle of about 45 ° with respect to the axis 21 of the breastplate (a gauge length aligned parallel and perpendicular to the filament in the breastplate with a nylon net). Sampled and reported against. The results shown in Table 1 show that the tension of the laminated breastplate with the nylon net does not exceed the tension of the base breastplate. Laminate breastplates according to the present invention can have a tension of about 2000 grams / inch or more, especially about 2500 grams / inch or more, and in embodiments testing of about 2500 grams / inch or more. Impact Resistance Test (Drop Projection) Impact resistance gives a measure of the chest-contact resistance for punching. The impact resistance of a breastplate sample is measured by dropping a projectile of known weight from a known distance and impacting on a circular sample of the breastplate. 2. Place the breastplate sample and An annular hydraulic grip having an inside diameter of 0 inches is tightly gripped to form a 3 inch diameter breastplate sample supported at the edge by the hydraulic grip. 14. a projectile having a predetermined mass and shape; Drop freely from the height of 0 inch to the center of the 3-inch diameter breastplate sample. Here, 15. The 0 inch distance is the distance from the plane of the sample to the center of gravity of the projectile. It is made of stainless steel and has a projectile tooth weight of 100 g, a spherical end with a diameter of 19 mm and a total length of 67 mm. The center of gravity of the projectile is about 1/2 in its longitudinal direction, so that the rounded tip at the spherical end is located about 348 mm from the plane of the sample. Five samples are impacted on the base breastplate and the breastplate according to the invention. Each impacted sample is examined for perforations (visible holes through the entire thickness of the breastplate). The configuration of the breastplate is such that if none of the five impacted samples were pierced by the projectile, one half of the mass of the projectile that would impact the sample and the velocity of the projectile It is believed to have an impact resistance equal to the product of the squares of When a breastplate with a nylon net according to the present invention was tested, no holes were formed in all five samples. Projectile velocity is calculated using the projectile formula for a 15 inch drop distance, assuming no air resistance. 15 inches (38. For a 100 g mass drop from 1 cm), the impact resistance is 1. 86 mg-cm Two / S Two (S is seconds), ie, 186 g-cm Two / S Two It has been reported as. Thus, a breastplate with a nylon net according to the present invention should be at least about 186 g-cm. Two / S Two With impact resistance. Flexural stiffness (inversely proportional to flexibility) The relative flexibility of the base breast sample and the breast breast sample according to the present invention is measured with reference to the INDA standard test IST 110.1-92. This standard is described here by reference. This test measures the bending stiffness of the sample in the item of drape stiffness. A 2.54 cm x 20 cm measurement sample was cut from the breastplate and manually slid in a direction parallel to its longitudinal direction at a rate of about 4.74 inches per minute, so that the tip was flat on the surface of the horizontal platform. Extend from the edge of. The protruding length of the sample is measured as the sample tip falls under its own weight at a point where the line connecting the sample tip to the edge of the platform is 41.5 ° to the horizontal. The bending stiffness of the sample is the cube of the extension length multiplied by the basis weight of the sample. Flexural stiffness is expressed in grams-centimeters as the average of at least two measurements. The flexibility of the sample is inversely proportional to the obtained bending stiffness. The results of the bending stiffness tests of the base breastplate and the breastplate with the nylon net oriented as shown in FIG. 2 are shown in Table 2. The bending stiffness was determined for a breastplate sample cut to have a long dimension approximately perpendicular to the breastplate axis 21 (the long axis inclined at 45 ° to the filament in the breastplate with nylon net). For breastplate samples cut to have a long dimension (parallel and perpendicular to the filament in the breastplate with nylon net) inclined about 45 ° with respect to axis 21 The direction is to be. The results in Tables 1 and 2 show that the laminated breastplate of the present invention has a slightly greater bending stiffness than the base breastplate, while at the same time improving the tension and opening resistance. The laminated breastplate according to the invention has a bending stiffness of less than about 20 g-cm, in particular less than about 15 g / cm, and in the tested embodiment less than about 12 g / cm. I can do it. Therefore, the laminated breastplate according to the present invention has a relatively low level of bending stiffness (giving the softness and comfort of the breastplate to the body to be worn) and relatively high tension (giving tear resistance). Have.
