Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 5′から3′方向への転写において、植物種子細胞内で機能し得るプロモ ーター、C18:0アシル‐ACP基質に対して実質的な活性を有しC16:0 アシル‐ACP基質に対してほとんどまたはまったく活性をもたないアシル‐A CPチオエステラーゼタンパク質をコードしているDNA配列、および植物細胞 内で機能し得る転写終止領域を含んでいるDNA構築物がゲノム内に組み込まれ ている植物を生育することからなる、植物種子トリグリセリド中の18:0脂肪 酸のレベルを増大させる方法。 2. 前記植物が脂肪種子作物植物である、請求項1記載の方法。 3. 前記脂肪種子作物植物がアブラナ科(Brassica)の植物である、請求項2記 載の方法。 4. 前記チオエステラーゼコード配列がマンゴスチン植物由来である、請求項 1記載の方法。 5. 前記DNA配列が図2に示すマンゴスチンGarmFatA1チオエステラーゼを コードしている、請求項4記載の方法。 6. 前記プロモーターが植物種子組織中で優先的に発現する遺伝子由来である 、請求項1記載の方法。 7. 前記植物種子トリグリセリドがC18:0脂肪アシル基を少なくとも20 モル%含む、請求項1記載の方法。 8. 前記植物種子トリグリセリドがC18:0脂肪アシル基を少なくとも30 モル%含む、請求項1記載の方法。 9. 前記植物がそのゲノム中に組み込まれた第二のDNA構築物を有しており 、前記第二のDNA構築物が前記植物に対して天然のステアロイル‐ACPデサ チュラーゼ遺伝子のアンチセンス発現を提供する、請求項1記載の方法。 10. 前記植物種子トリグリセリドがC18:0脂肪アシル基を少なくとも4 0モル%含む、請求項9記載の方法。 11. 前記植物が脂肪種子アブラナ科(Brassica)植物であり、前記チオエステ ラーゼコード配列がマンゴスチン植物由来であり、前記第二のDNA構築物 がpCGN7696である、請求項9記載の方法。 12. 全脂肪酸中に20モル%以上のステアリン酸を含んでおり、前記ステア リン酸はトリグリセリド分子の少なくともひとつの位置にとり込まれており、前 記植物の野生型の種子は脂肪酸中に5.0モル%未満のステアリン酸を含有する 、植物種子。 13. 脂肪酸中に約30モル%以上のステアリン酸を含んでいる、請求項12 記載の種子。 14. 脂肪酸中に約40モル%以上のステアリン酸を含んでいる、請求項12 記載の種子。 15. 油脂のアシル基の20モル%以上がステアリン酸のアシル基であり、前 記油脂は請求項12記載の種子から誘導される、植物種子油。 16. 油脂のアシル基の40モル%以上がステアリン酸のアシル基であり、前 記油脂は請求項12記載の種子に由来する、植物種子油。 17. 全脂肪酸中に20モル%以上のステアリン酸を含んでいる、アブラナ科 (Brassica)の種子。 18. 全脂肪酸中に40モル%以上のステアリン酸を含んでいる、アブラナ科 (Brassica)の種子。 19. 油脂のアシル基の20モル%以上がステアリン酸のアシル基であり、前 記油脂は請求項17記載のアブラナ科(Brassica)の種子に由来する、植物種子油 。 20. 油脂のアシル基の40モル%以上がステアリン酸のアシル基であり、前 記油脂は請求項18記載のアブラナ科(Brassica)の種子に由来する、植物種子油 。
