Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector mounting method, wherein a connector for conducting electrical connection with the exterior can be mounted on an end part of a printed circuit board with its center of gravity well balanced and furthermore can be made compact. SOLUTION: A cut-out part 17 being formed leaving two wing parts 18 on an end part of a printed circuit board 16, further protruding parts 14 being protrusively provided on opposite side parts of a connector 11, this connector 11 is inserted into the cut-out part 17, and the protruding parts 14 are laid on the two wing parts 18 respectively. Balance for the center of gravity of the connector 11 becomes stable with the connector 11 mounted on the printed circuit board 16. Further, leads 13 are free from separation from terminals 20 due to a wrench given to the connector 11, and furthermore the whole structure can be made thinner.

FIG. 12 is a side view showing a mounting structure of a conventional connector. In the connector 1, a lead 3 extends forward from a front surface of a connector main body 2 made of a synthetic resin molded body. A circuit pattern is formed on the upper surface of the printed circuit board 4, and the connector 1 is mounted on the printed circuit board 4 with the lead 3 grounded to a terminal at the end of the circuit pattern. In this case, as shown in the figure, the connector 1 is often mounted with its rear portion protruding from the printed circuit board 4. The printed circuit board 4 on which the connector 1 is mounted is sent to a heating furnace of a reflow device, and the leads 3 and terminals are soldered.

However, in the above-described conventional connector mounting structure, the connector 1 is mounted with its rear portion protruding from the printed circuit board 4, so that the mounting state is unstable. By then,
There has been a problem that the connector 3 is displaced and the lead 3 falls off from the terminal of the circuit pattern, or falls easily from the printed board 4 as indicated by an arrow N1.

In addition, it is difficult to reduce the size and size of the connector 1 because the overall thickness W is large, and the center of the connector 1 in the thickness direction and the center of the printed circuit board 4 in the thickness direction are shifted by a distance D. An arrow N is applied to the connector 1 due to a force F when the connector pins are inserted from behind the connector 1.
There is a problem that a rotational moment in two directions, that is, a direction in which the connector 1 is kneaded is applied, and the lead 3 is easily separated from the terminal.

In the mounted state, the rear portion of the connector 11 does not protrude from the printed circuit board 16, and the center of gravity G of the connector 11 is closer to the lead 13 than the protrusion 14. Since the rotational moment due to its own weight acts in the direction in which the mounted lead 13 is pressed against the terminal 20, the lead 13 is connected to the terminal 2.
It can be mounted with a good balance of center of gravity by firmly touching the ground to zero.
Further, the overall thickness W can be reduced, and the center of the connector 11 in the thickness direction of the printed circuit board 16 substantially coincides with the printed wiring board 16. I never leave 20.

The printed circuit board 16 on which the connector 11 is mounted is sent to the heating furnace of the reflow device, and the leads 13 are fixed by soldering to the terminals 20, but the mounting state of the connector 11 is stable. And especially connectors 11
(See FIG. 5), the position of the connector 13 in the lateral direction (the width direction of the lead 13) is regulated by the contact of both side surfaces of the connector body 12 with the inner surfaces of the wing portions 18 (see FIG. 5). The lead 13 is connected to the terminal 2 without falling off.
It can be fixed while securely grounding to zero.

The connector 11 is inserted into the cutout 17, and the projection 23 is placed on the wings 18. Then, the printed circuit board 1
6 is sent to the heating furnace of the reflow device, and the lead 13 is fixed to the terminal 20 by soldering. When the soldering is completed, the both wings 18 are cut off from the V-shaped groove 22 and separated and removed as shown by a chain line in FIG. According to the fifth embodiment, a structure in which the connector main body 12 protrudes from the end of the printed circuit board 16 is possible, and for example, a mounting structure suitable for a card module such as a memory card or a card computer can be obtained. The separating means for separating and removing the wing portions 18 from the printed circuit board 16 is not limited to the fifth embodiment. For example, a perforation may be formed instead of the V groove 22. As is clear from the above embodiments, the present invention allows various design changes.

As described above, according to the connector mounting method of the present invention, the balance of the center of gravity of the connector is stabilized in a state where the connector is mounted on the printed circuit board, and the connector falls from the printed circuit board or the lead of the connector can be obtained. Is not separated from the terminal of the circuit pattern, and by aligning the connector and the center of the thickness of the printed circuit board as much as possible, when inserting the pin of the external connector into the connector, the connector is kneaded and the lead separates from the terminal Without this, many excellent effects are obtained, such as the overall thickness can be reduced.
