いる。DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Title of Invention: Artificial patina
Field of the invention
The present invention relates to an artificial patina coating a copper support.
Background of the Invention
When exposed to air for a period of time, a copper support can be exposed to a safety known as patina.
A defined greenish-blue film forms. Typically, initially bright orange
Some copper is dull brown hematite (CuTwoO) to form a uniform layer,
Is coated with a blue-green patina having a thickness of 5 to 15 μm. Membrane
Properties vary with the location of the support. In general, patina is mainly basic in industrial cities
Copper sulfate (Broshan copper ore CuSOFour3Cu (OH)Two), Mainly salt in the sea
It consists of basic copper chloride (green salt copper ore). There is little to form a natural patina coating
Require four years, more typically at least ten years. Green in standard urban environment
Blue generally forms after 8 to 12 years. In urban environments, the time is 16-20
Year.
A patina coated copper support is generally accepted as aesthetic.
And knowing that much use of copper produces patina. Naturally form patina
Coating the copper support in less time, as it takes longer to form
It would be desirable to develop methods and formulations that could form a verdant blue.
Until now, to develop artificial patina compounds that can form patina in a short time
Many attempts have been made. These conventional formulations are broadly divided into two groups,
That is;
(I) on a copper support as a solution or paste that reacts with copper to form patina
The formulation to be applied;
(Ii) a formulation that is applied like a paint to a copper support and adheres to the copper support
;
Can be divided into
However, the conventional formation method has a composition that matches the natural patina and when exposed to the atmosphere,
It has the disadvantage that stable artificial patina could not be produced. Most conventional artificial
Patina peels off in a short time due to poor adhesion of patina to the metal support,
Sometimes special conditions were required to form well and adhere to metal
. In addition, often a patina is top coated to prevent patina loss.
Is necessary.
More specifically, U.S. Pat. No. 3,152,927 is applied and
Disclosed is an artificial patina formulation that can produce a copper plate with a pre-patina. Next
These copper plates can be installed at selected locations. The patina formation method uses basic nitric acid.
Copper sludge (excess Cu (OH)TwoWhich is then oxidized
And drying the coated copper plate.
However, the resulting artificial patina coating transforms patina into its natural form.
Competition reaction to obtain This removes the applied patina.
There is a risk of fluttering.
Survey by the International Copper Research Association (
According to INCRA Project 47c, 1967), 100% of patina of copper nitrate
Is not stable and works well in some areas when the sample is exposed to air,
It turned out that some areas did not work. Green-blue initial strength
Has a moderate adhesion, so the patina no longer peels off where it was rubbed
In addition, the coating may be fragile due to its fragility.
From 1963 to 1967, the International Copper Research Association (INCRA Project 47c)
, 1967) invested in a research program to create artificial patina formation methods. this
As a result of the study INCRA · Patine (patina) 60 (b), patina-like
Solutions (pastes) of chemicals capable of producing coatings have been developed.
This paste consists of copper sulfate, ammonium sulfate, lithium chloride, sodium dichromate
Containing a mixture of water, Ben-A-Gel EW and water, after being mixed with hydrochloric acid,
It is applied to the copper surface with a brush. Patina occurs over several days (during which time rain or
Reacts with dew). The final patina that occurs is chemically

LiCl). Applying a clear topcoat greatly improves the success rate of patina
Rukoto has been shown.
Disadvantages of this patina production method are that it requires expensive chemicals and high labor costs.
is there. In addition, the reaction time (several days) is long and easily interrupted by natural weather cycles
May be done. The results are quite variable and somewhat unreliable.
Copper and Brass Research Association (CABRA) (“artificial patina” from copper roof, CDA
Edition No. 57, 1959) coated large copper objects (eg roofs)
A spraying method was developed. Spray solution is ammonium sulfate, copper sulfate,
Includes ammonia and water. This solution is sprayed on the surface and dried. This is 5
Repeated ~ 6 times. Color development depends on the appropriate weather conditions and will occur if it rains within 8 hours.
The solution may be washed away before the reaction starts. Ideal conditions are fog or
Requires a relative humidity of at least 80%.
The disadvantage of this method is that the results of the patina formation reaction are unreliable and subject to harsh environmental conditions.
That is to say. In addition, the patina formed has poor adhesion and poor weather resistance
New
U.S. Pat. No. 3,497,401 discloses an acidic solution containing potassium chloride (oxidizing agent) and copper sulfate.
3 shows immersion of a copper plate in a liquid (pH = 3.0). This copper plate turns patina around four days later.
Obtained. This patina is chemically the same as natural patina, but due to its different microstructure.
Most of the blue coating will be easily removed. Also bright blue
It is a color, not a natural turquoise. The main difficulty is the chemical properties of the solution in the bath (for example,
Changes in chloride content) would result in semi-commercial scale production.
I cannot make full use of it. Place the copper plate with the spare patina on a weather test bench or
When installed at the root, it worked.
Kobe Steel (Japan) (Painting Engineering (Coating Technology), Vol. 24, No. 7, pp. 271-275
, 1989) developed a technique for producing continuous artificial patina. This method is clean
A flat copper plate with a coloring agent consisting mainly of basic copper chloride (chlorite)
And This colored layer is applied with a roller and a water-based acrylic emulsion tree
The top layer of the fat is sprayed on the top to ensure adhesion of the colored film. Processing of this upper layer
Disappears over time and occurs naturally as the colored layer of basic copper chloride reacts
Patina is formed.
The formed artificial patina has excellent adhesion properties and heavy metal processing (bending, deep drawing)
). In addition, corrosion acceleration and exposure tests are artificial patina.
Reacts to form naturally occurring compounds.
The disadvantage of this method is that artificial and uniform colors are produced. Natural patina is
It has a bluish-green character and an uneven and mottled appearance. In addition, this coaty
Is softer than natural patina and is eroded or peeled off due to the continuous acrylic layer
Fall.
Therefore, it is as similar as possible to natural patina in composition, form and appearance,
And a method for producing a patina having sufficient strength and adhesive force over the whole
It is an object of the present invention to do so.
