Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably mount a decoration member on the side wall of a tire by a method wherein a decoration member is previously manufactured by using a comparatively rigid material such that a leg part is arranged at a tire side wall in a state to at least partially extend therethrough, in a pneumatic tire for a vehicle formed such that curing heat-treated decoration members are mounted on the side wall of the tire. SOLUTION: The decoration properties of a tire 10 are improved in a way that a number of decoration members 12 are embedded at intervals of a given distance in the side wall 11 of the tire 10. Each decoration member 12 is formed of a material further rigid than a parent material 26 of the tire 10, preferably thermoplastic or thermosetting plastic having the modulus of elasticity at least five times as large as that of the parent material 36. Further, in the manufacture, the decoration member 12 has, for example, an umbrella-form decoration member head 14 and formed in a mushroom-form shape where a leg part 15 is integrally molded on the under side 20 of the decoration member head 14. A through-hole 17 is formed in the fixed leg part 15 and during molding of the tire, the decoration member 12 is reliably held and fixed through a flow of the parent material 26 in the through-hole 27.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Decorating components for vehicle tires are generally well known and are usually incorporated into the tire in the form of a chemical embedding of a color rubber layer when the tire is made to improve appearance. However, during the heat treatment, a shift occurs between the individual color layers and the other black tire sidewall areas. The sharp borders are blurred and need to be corrected usually by abrasion. This takes time and money.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION According to the present invention, there is provided a tire, in particular, a pneumatic tire for a vehicle, in which a decorative member which has been cured and heat-treated is attached to a side wall of the tire. This is solved by the fact that the decorative part 12 has a foot 15 which is made and made of a material which is harder than the tire side wall 11 and which is at least partially penetrated by the base material 26 of the tire side wall 11.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS By the above-described procedure, it is possible to provide a pneumatic tire such as a passenger car and a bicycle, in which a decorative member can be separately formed from an unprocessed molded article of a tire and shaped into a tire. Similarly, solid tires can be provided with this type of decorative member used for penetrating or piercing scratch protection. The feet of the decorative element are pressed against the still soft matrix of the side walls while finishing the tire. In this case, the coarse base material flows through the through hole in the foot portion of the decorative member, and unites to form one continuous rubber molded product. After the hardening heat treatment, the decorative element flows through the through-holes, where it is held against the tire sidewall by the hardened rubber.

The decorative member is a material that is harder than the rubber of the tire, and at the same time acts as a puncture protection. For this reason, the decorative member is designed to have an elastic modulus at least five times higher than that of the base material of the sidewall of the tire.

[0008] Similarly, it also protects the sides when traveling close to, for example, the curb of a road. For this purpose, a large number of decorative members, together with the heads of the decorative members, are directly abutted against the side walls of the tire and subjected to hardening heat treatment, so that these decorative members are made of a material for the curb of ordinary roads more than the rubber mixture of the tire side walls,
That is, it has a coefficient of friction that is at least as small as a factor of 2 with respect to concrete, basalt, granite, and the like.

FIG. 5 shows a decorative member 12 having an arcuate foot 22. Here, in order to improve the flow of the coarse base material during molding, there is an exhaust hole 33 communicating with the decorative member head 14 to the outside. During finishing, the still uncured heat-treated base material presses out the air under the decorative member head 14 to the outside,
The through holes 17 completely match. In this way, the through-hole 17 is filled well and completely.

The decorative member 12 is firmly fixed to the side wall 11 of the tire when the base material 16 is molded and cured and heat-treated.
For example, when traveling with the tire 10 along the side of a curb on a road, this anchoring section prevents the side from moving.
For this example, the decorative members 12 and 13 are made of a wear-resistant material that is at least 30% better than the base material 26.
