置(5)により加圧ないし開放運動を行うもう一方の電
極チップ(3)との間に必要な加圧力を発生させてワー
クを挟持し,両電極間に溶接電流を流してこれを溶接す
るスポット溶接用Cガンであって,前記駆動装置は電極
チップを加圧/開放する駆動源として備えた電動モータ
(M)と,この電動モータの回転運動をボールネジ(1
6)とボールナット(17)により往復直線運動に変換
して電極加圧ないし開放動作する電極駆動軸(6)及び
その駆動軸を収納するケーシング(7)と,前記電動モ
ータの動力を電極駆動軸に伝達する動力伝達機構(8)
とを含む一つの駆動ユニットを構成し,その駆動ユニッ
トに含まれる前記電動モータがコモンベース(10)に
取り付けられた電動加圧式ガンにおいて,このコモンベ
ースは前記ケーシング(7)のヘッド部(9)に締め付
け手段を介して着脱可能に取り付けられ,それによって
前記モータの配置が前記駆動軸中心線X−Xと同心円上
で360度方向に自在に換えられることを特徴とする電
動加圧式スポット溶接用Cガン。
