Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of lumbago, regardless of taking a sitting posture over a long time, by making a waist rest of a deformable pillow and a fixing part for preventing the travel of the pillow. SOLUTION: A waist rest is formed out of a deformable pillow 1 of rubber ball type having an approximately 15 cm diameter, and a partly extended fixing part 2. The deformable pillow 1 is an air charged cushion and easily deformed when subjected to a user's body weight. The air cushion with too high internal pressure is not deformed and is not fit to the scaral vertebra. The cushion, therefore, is preliminarily adjusted to such pressure as easily deformed, when pressed by hands. At the time of using the waist rest, the fixing part 2 is placed under a user's breach, thereby securing the air cushion against a travel. In this case, the deformable pillow 1 supports the scaral vertebra from the back, thereby keeping a user's body at a proper posture and preventing the occurrence of lumbago. The size of the deformable pillow 1 is approximately between 5 cm and 30 cm, depending on necessity, and generally taken at a value between 10 cm and 20 cm. Also, the shape of the pillar 1 is acceptable when suitable for supporting the scaral vertebra from the back.
