Description of the Related Art In a winter road environment in a snowy cold region, since the road surface and the driving background are covered with snow, it is extremely difficult for a driver to determine a roadside position, and there is a risk of departure from the road. For this reason, in cold snowy regions, safety facilities such as snow poles that indicate roadside positions have been installed to encourage drivers to gaze on winter roads. In addition, although luminous bodies such as LEDs and halogen lamps are used to promote gaze guidance, these luminous bodies are effective at night, but in the daytime, the illuminance of the background exceeds the luminous luminance and the visibility for the driver is improved. It is hard to say that it is excellent.

However, the purpose of these surface treatments is primarily to improve the durability of the structure, and only to provide a scenic effect as a measure against landscape.

Many. However, current road facilities are often provided with anticorrosion treatment of the same color as snow, such as hot-dip galvanizing and white paint, and no consideration is given to gaze guidance on winter roads, that is, visibility. There is no situation.

The achromatic color brightness is divided into 10 levels based on the approximate Munsell value, and the A4 size panel is painted. Table 1 shows the relationship between the specimen and the Munsell value. Note that the matting type was used for the coating because of concerns about the reflection of sunlight.

s) and negative contrast (Bs <Bo). The contrast due to the paint color in this test is due to the negative contrast, in which the luminance of the specimen is lower than the background luminance.・ Set each specimen outdoors and measure the luminance of the painted surface and the luminance of the background (snow scene). For luminance measurement, use MINOLTA: CS
-100 was used.・ Measurement direction: 4 directions of north, south, west and east (if the measurement direction is north, the specimen will face south) ・ Measurement height: 1.2m (line of sight from ordinary car driver) ・ Measuring distance : 1.0 m from the front of the test specimen-Measurement interval: 1 hour Using the luminance measurement results obtained here, the contrast was calculated and evaluated. The larger the value of the contrast, the better the visibility. Table 4 shows the measured values of the contrast.

It was clarified that it was excellent. By applying a color in such a lightness range to the structure of the road facility, the gaze guidance effect on a winter road, that is, the visibility is improved, contributing to traffic safety.
