Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an excellent paper for preventing counterfeit, without causing a flaw on an adhesive layer of the surface of thread in a drying process after paper making and without staining a dryer drum with an adhesive of the thread in the production of a paper for preventing counterfeit of a type, in which a thread supplied with an adhesive layer is repeatedly exposed and embedded. SOLUTION: In this method for producing a paper for preventing counterfeit by adding a thread obtained by providing both the sides of a filamentous or taped substrate with a thermoplastic and/or a water remoistening adhesive into a paper layer so as to alternately expose and embed the thread at one side of a paper, a releasing agent is applied to the surface of a cylindrical type dyer to be brought into contact with the thread in a drying process. Otherwise, the paper for preventing counterfeit is produced while spraying the releasing agent to the surface of the cylindrical type dryer to be firstly brought into contact with the thread in the drying process. A polyolefin wax or one selected from a higher fatty acid or a higher fatty acid salt having a melting point lower than the surface temperature of a dryer having the highest temperature is used as the releasing agent.

As a countermeasure for preventing forgery, JP-A-48-75
No. 808, JP-B-52-48660, JP-A-51-1
For example, there is a forgery prevention paper referred to as a so-called threaded paper in which a thread (referred to as a thread) is formed between paper layers described in Japanese Patent No. 30308 or the like.

[0004] The form of the thread to be formed between the paper layers is generally about 10 to 100 µm in thickness and 0.2 to 30 mm.
It is in the form of a thread or tape having a width of about one. For example, gold thread, silver thread, plastic film, metal-deposited film and the like are used. In recent years, holograms, pixelgrams, grating images, etc., which are extremely difficult to duplicate, are affixed to credit cards, banknotes, etc. to prevent counterfeiting by advanced copier technology, but these are also used as threads . The anti-counterfeit paper incorporating these threads cannot be forged in the metallic luster portion of the threads even when copied with a copying machine, and is difficult to falsify.

However, if the paper layer and the thread are not firmly bonded to each other in the anti-counterfeit paper into which the thread is formed, pulling the thread causes the thread to slip out of the paper layer, thereby impairing the value of the anti-counterfeit paper or falling off. This may cause the thread to be used for forgery or alteration.

As means for solving such a problem, for example, a water-soluble adhesive is used for a size press solution in a paper making process, or a thermoplastic resin is used for a thread as described in JP-A-7-56377. A method of applying a resin or a water-soluble adhesive to improve the adhesive strength to a paper layer, and the like can be given. However, sufficient adhesive strength cannot be obtained with a size press liquid, and it is difficult to apply a thermoplastic resin or a water-soluble adhesive to a thread and to form a paper between paper layers with existing equipment.

In the method of using a thread provided with an adhesive layer in advance, when the adhesive layer provided on the exposed portion of the thread comes into contact with the cylindrical dryer in the drying step, the adhesive layer on the thread surface is damaged. This may cause the appearance of the forgery prevention paper to be impaired, or the transfer of adhesive may contaminate the dryer surface.

On the other hand, as a means for solving such a problem, as described in Japanese Utility Model Registration No. 3034283, a layer which is not melted or softened by heat is provided on the side of the thread in contact with the dryer drum. There is a method, but in this case, the paper layer of the thread covering portion rises from the surface of the thread, which is not preferable because the appearance of the anti-counterfeit paper is inferior.

Among the above release agents, higher fatty acids, higher fatty acid salts, polyolefin waxes and the like are particularly preferable because of their excellent releasing effect. However, when higher fatty acids or higher fatty acid salts are used, they are higher than the surface temperature of all dryers. If the melting point of the release agent is high, the release agent may remain on the surface of the anti-counterfeit paper and deteriorate printability, which is not preferred. Conversely, if the melting point of the release agent is lower than the surface temperature of the dryer with the highest temperature, the excess release agent is melted by the heat of the dryer and penetrates into the forgery prevention paper without deteriorating printability, preferable. On the other hand, polyolefin wax is particularly preferable because it does not deteriorate printability irrespective of the melting point, softening point and the like.

These release agents may be rubbed directly against the surface of the dryer as they are in a solid or liquid state, or may be formed into an aqueous dispersion to an appropriate concentration and sprayed onto the surface of the dryer. When spraying, it is particularly preferable to use an aqueous dispersion of a polyolefin wax or a higher fatty acid or an ammonium salt thereof having a melting point lower than the surface temperature of the dryer having the highest temperature. Among them, an emulsion of polyethylene wax and an aqueous solution of ammonium oleate are most preferable.

In order to cope with long-term production,
It is preferable to spray the release agent while producing thread-containing forgery prevention paper. In this case, the release agent may be sprayed on all the cylindrical dryer surfaces in contact with the thread,
If the release agent is sprayed only on the surface of the cylindrical dryer that comes into contact with the thread first, the release agent gradually transfers to the surface of the dryer that comes into contact with the thread thereafter, so that a sufficient effect can be obtained. In this case, in order to appropriately adjust the amount of the release agent on the surface of the dryer, the concentration and the spray amount of the release agent may be adjusted, or the spray time of the release agent may be controlled.

As is clear from the results shown in Table 1, the present invention can produce a thread-proof anti-counterfeit paper without damaging the thread surface or contaminating the dryer surface due to the transfer of the adhesive. In addition, other than Example 3, forgery prevention paper excellent in printability could be manufactured.
In Example 3, since zinc stearate having a high melting point (melting point: about 140 ° C.) was used as a release agent, the printing suitability as a forgery prevention paper was slightly inferior even if it was preferable in production.
