2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, pots used for hydroponic cultivation generally include a planting material for supporting and cultivating plant roots and a container for accommodating the planting material.
Further, there is known a container provided with a vent on the peripheral wall of a container in order to improve the permeability of the root of the plant. In such hydroponic cultivation, it is important to control the amount of water with respect to the roots of the plants by watering so as not to kill the plants. Therefore, conventionally, in order to constantly contact the entire roots of the plant with water that is not excessive, moss, porous clay, or the like having a strong water-holding power is used as a planting material. In general, a drain hole is provided at the bottom of the container for accommodating the implantable material for draining.

However, the conventional control of the amount of water cannot be said to be sufficient, and the control of the timing and amount of irrigation is complicated. Even if a ventilation hole is provided in the peripheral wall or water is drained from the bottom of the container, the plant may easily die depending on the environment such as temperature conditions. In addition, the water moss changes color over time and deteriorates in appearance, so that it is not suitable for long-term cultivation and needs to be replaced as appropriate. In the replacement of water moss, since the roots of the plant are entangled with the moss, it is extremely troublesome to remove the moss without damaging the roots.

According to the present invention, in a pot for hydroponics comprising a planting material for supporting a root of a plant to be cultivated and a container for containing the planting material, the container is a container. A water culture pot is provided, which is provided with a drainage hole at a predetermined height from the bottom and wherein the planting material is a plurality of water-repellent materials. In the pot for hydroponics according to the present invention, the drain hole is provided at a predetermined position from the bottom of the container, and extra water is drained from the drain hole to keep the water in the container at a predetermined water level or lower. On the other hand, a water-repellent material as an implant material has a surface that repels water and does not retain water during irrigation. Therefore, it is possible to prevent water from constantly contacting at least the root existing above the drain hole, and to improve the air permeability of the root existing at least above the drain hole, thereby preventing root rot of the entire root. The plurality of water-repellent materials have less root entanglement and make it very easy to remove the roots from the implanted material such as when transferring pots.

The water-repellent material is preferably a water-repellent small piece or sphere, such as glass, plastic, metal, pebbles, or gravel. It is preferable to use a material that can penetrate into the space. In addition, among the water-repellent materials, by selecting and using a relatively heavy material having a relatively high weight, the flower stalk is elongated and the top of the plant is prevented from falling when cultivating a plant such as a western orchid which is heavy. Can also. In addition, the water-repellent material does not discolor unlike water moss, and thus can sufficiently cope with long-term cultivation.

The drain hole is for maintaining the water in the container at a predetermined water level or lower. Therefore, the predetermined height is such that the water level in the container impregnates the tip of the root from 1/4 to 1/2. It is preferable to set it to such an extent that it can be obtained. The height of the implanted material can be adjusted by appropriately increasing or decreasing the amount of the water-repellent material according to the growth of the root. Further, in the pot for hydroponic cultivation of the present invention, as described above, since the water in the container does not always contact the whole root, the water temperature of the water in the container decreases due to the temperature change of the outside air. Even so, the effect on the entire root is small, and root rot hardly occurs due to cold in winter. In particular, by adopting a heat-insulated container as the container, it is possible to further enhance the heat retaining effect inside the container, and it is possible to sufficiently cope with cultivation in winter. In this regard, for example, the indoor temperature in winter near Tokyo is at least about 12 degrees Celsius, and it is only about 14 degrees Celsius that plants die.
Because it is a degree, it is only necessary to be able to insulate about 2 degrees Celsius. The heat-insulated container does not only mean that the container itself is a heat-insulating material such as foamed plastic such as styrofoam, expanded polypropylene, expanded polystyrene, and expanded polyurethane, but also a normal container having such an insulating property. The meaning includes the case where it is further housed in a container.

The container may be made transparent or a transparent slit may be provided in a part thereof so that the water level can be constantly checked so that the timing of irrigation can be easily recognized. In particular, when the container is transparent, the inside small pieces can be seen from the outside, so that if the small pieces are colored or formed into a desired shape, various appearances can be enjoyed.

Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is an external view of a pot 1 for hydroponics according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a perspective view thereof. The hydroponic cultivation pot 1 includes a plurality of glass balls 2 having a diameter of about 1 to 2 cm, and a styrene foam container 3 for accommodating the glass balls. The container 3 made of foamed styrene includes a plurality of holes 3a for ventilation on an upper peripheral wall, a drain hole 3b for maintaining a water level in the container at a predetermined position, and a transparent slit 3c for checking the water level.

When the plant 4 is to be planted in the hydroponic cultivation pot 1, the plant 4 is housed in the container 3 so that the root of the plant 4 covers the gap between the plurality of glass balls 2. At this time, the height of the planting material is adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of glass balls 2 according to the length of the root, and the root is placed so that the tip 1/4 of the root is located below the drain hole 3b.

When watering the water cultivation pot 1, water can be poured from above in the same manner as in the prior art. The injected water flows down while being repelled through the gap between the glass balls 2 and accumulates in the lower part of the container 3. Here, since unnecessary water is discharged from the drain hole 3b, the water level does not always become higher than the drain hole 3b.
Only a predetermined position of the root tip can be submerged.
Therefore, root rot due to excessive irrigation can be prevented. In addition, since the water level of the water in the container 3 can be seen from the transparent slit 3c, it may be irrigated as needed. Since the amount of water in the container 3 is small, even if the temperature of the water changes due to a change in the temperature of the outside air, the influence on the entire root is small. In winter, the root cools down due to the heat insulating effect of the styrene foam container 3. It can prevent withering.

The upper root that is not immersed in water in the container 3 is always in contact with air by the water repellent effect of the glass ball 2 and the hole 3a, and the root growth is promoted. FIG. 3 shows an embodiment in which a conventionally used container 3 ′ of a non-insulating material is used in place of the styrene foam container 3, and a container 4 of a heat insulating material for housing the container 3 ′ is further provided. This is an embodiment provided with the same effects as the hydroponic cultivation pot 1 shown in FIG.

Next, the cultivation method will be described. Irrigation is carried out irregularly in each section. In the test section, the number of times of irrigation is increased in the target section so that water always accumulates at the bottom of the cup-shaped container. The irrigating method used was adopted, and the surface of the water moss was pressed with a finger to maintain the wetness in an appropriate state. Fertilization was performed under the same conditions in both plots. As for the cultivation temperature in the greenhouse, the minimum temperature was maintained at 18 degrees Celsius, but the maximum temperature was not particularly adjusted.
