Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a combustible granular agent for treating a urine having a suitable solidifying property by using pulp powders. SOLUTION: This granular agent contains 30-60wt.% pulp powder having 70-95μm average grain size measured with a JIS Z8801 sieving mesh, 30-50wt.% bentnite powder, 5-20wt.% hydroxyalkylalkyl cellulose and 2-4wt.% surfactant. In the granular agent, the diameter is defined as 1-8mm and the apparent released density is defined as <0.40.

[0003] Conventionally, these granules are mainly composed of inorganic components such as bentonite having excellent water absorption, and there is a problem that the solidified product cannot be incinerated and discarded. In recent years, investigations have been made into granules using flammable organic substances to improve these problems, but few of the organic substances have water absorption solidification properties comparable to bentonite,
Urination treatment granules disclosed in JP-A-7-96180 and the like are known as those which improve water absorption and solidification performance by using water-soluble hydroxyalkylalkyl celluloses. Here, as a combustible organic substance, wood powder has conventionally been often used, but it is desired to use a white pulp powder having a more clean feeling.

The urine-treating granules according to the present invention are preferably produced in the form of granules having a diameter of 1 to 8 mm. Granulation is carried out by mixing the raw materials, adding an appropriate amount of water, drying the tumbling granulation or extrusion granulation, and adjusting the particle size by sieving or the like. The apparent loose density of the granules is preferably less than 0.40. The apparent loose density is defined as the volume V (cc) of the container and the weight G of the granules contained.
(G) is defined as the ratio G / V (g / cc). The apparent loose density can be measured, for example, by using a powder tester manufactured by Hosokawa Micron Co., Ltd. to store the powder that has passed through the sieve in a measuring cup. In addition, the mesh of the sieve is appropriately selected and performed according to the particle size of the granule. The granules according to the present invention are most preferably 4 mesh.

4. Test method of granules The prepared granules are placed in a 2 liter bowl, and 20 cc of 2% saline solution is poured into the granules as artificial urine for pets.
After a minute, the solidified portion was taken out, and the saline solution added to the bottom of the container did not penetrate and the solidified body was manually taken out, and was evaluated as ○. 5. Result All of Examples 1 to 4 in the compounding range of the present invention showed a good solidified state. On the other hand, in Comparative Example 1, the apparent loose density was 0.4, which is the boundary value, but the solidification state was poor. In Comparative Example 2, the average particle size of the pulp powder was small, the apparent loose density was large, and the solidification state was poor. Comparative Example 3 has a large average particle size of the pulp powder,
The solidification state was poor. In Comparative Example 4, the average particle size of the pulp powder was very large, and the solidification state was poor. In Comparative Example 5, the content of the pulp powder was too large, and the solidification state was poor. From the results of the above Comparative Examples and Examples, it is understood that, according to the present invention, urination-treated granules exhibiting a good solidified state can be obtained using pulp powder.
