Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the film at the external surface of a capacitor from being damaged or broken, by putting the free end of a lead wire in such a condition that it is free of angle projecting outward. SOLUTION: In an electrode terminal for an electrolytic capacitor where a film is attached to the external surface of the case, there are edge burrs 26 or a transverse burr 30 at the free end of the lead wire 16 retained by a retaining means 32. The free end of this lead wire 16 is arranged to face the chamfering tool 36 attached to a rotating means 34. This chamfering tool 36 is attached freely of mounting and removal to the rotating means 34, and the rotating means 34 and the chamfering means 36 shift to the lead wire 16. Moreover, this chamfering tool 36 cuts the outer edge of the free end of the lead wire 16 into such form that there is no angle projecting outward. Then, the outer end of the free end of the lead wire 16 is cut in circular form, and the outer edge burrs 26 and the transverse burr 30 are removed. Hereby, even if the outer edge of the free end of the lead wire makes contact with the film at the external surface, it never damages the film.

Next, the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a partial sectional view of an apparatus for producing an electrode terminal for a coated electrolytic capacitor. In the present invention, the same reference numerals as those in FIGS. 5 to 8 denote the same members. The electrode terminal for an electrolytic capacitor according to the present invention is applied to a capacitor used for attaching a coating to the outer surface of a case. The lead 16 is held by the holding means 32
Is held. An outer edge burr 26 and a transverse burr 30 are formed at the free end of the lead wire 16. The free end of the lead 16 is placed facing a chamfering tool 36 attached to the rotating means 34. This chamfering tool 36
Is detachably attached to the rotating means 34. Although the rotating means 34 and the chamfering tool 36 are set to move with respect to the lead 16, the lead 16 and the holding means 32 may be moved.

The chamfering tool 36 is for cutting the outer edge of the free end of the lead wire 16 into a shape having no corners protruding outward, as shown in FIGS. For example, if the outer edge of the free end of the lead wire 16 is cut into an arc shape (circular outer edge portion 38) using the chamfering tool 36, the outer edge burr 26 can be removed. This chamfering tool 3
6, the outwardly projecting corners of the transverse burr 30 of the end face 28 of the free end of the lead 16 are also removed at the same time. As for the removal of the transverse burrs 30, as shown in FIG. 2, it is desirable to remove the entirety of the transverse burrs 30 protruding from the end surface 28 of the free end of the lead wire 16, but as shown in FIG. A configuration may be used in which only the sharp corner of the protruding tip of the cross burr 30 is shaved to leave the ridge 40. With the chamfering tool 36, the free end of the lead wire 16 can be cut into any shape, but the outer edge of the free end of the lead wire 16 is cut into a shape without corners protruding outward,
At least a sharp corner of the projecting tip of the transverse burr 30 of the free end face 28 is cut. As a result, the outer burrs 26 and the transverse burrs 30 at the free ends of the lead wires 16 are completely removed, so that the outer edges of the free ends of the lead wires 16 come into contact with the coating 22 (see FIG. 6) on the outer surface of the capacitor. Even
The coating 22 is not damaged. The processing of the lead wire 16 using the rotating means 34 and the chamfering tool 36 can be performed at a high speed, and can be incorporated in the manufacturing process of the electrode terminal for the electrolytic capacitor. That is, a step of removing the outer edge burrs 26 and the transverse burrs 30 while holding the lead wires 16 to form the flat portions 12 on the tabs 14 is added.

Next, another means for removing the outer burrs 26 and the transverse burrs 30 of the lead wire 16 is shown in FIG. The lead 16 is held by holding means 42. Lead wire 1
The free end of 6 is arranged facing the electric discharge tool 44 moving with respect to the lead wire 16. The electric discharge machining tool 4
4, the holding means 42 may be moved. Here, for example, the free end of the lead wire 16 is subjected to electric discharge machining by supplying electricity with the electric discharge machining tool 44 as an anode and the holding means 42 as a cathode. By this electric discharge machining, the free end of the lead wire 16 can be machined into a shape without corners protruding outward. That is, the outer edge burr 26 and the cross burr 30 shown in FIG. 7 are cut. By changing the discharge conditions such as the frequency and voltage of the electric discharge machining tool 44, the free end of the lead wire 16 is machined (cut) into a shape having no corners as shown in FIGS. 26 and the cross burr 30 can be completely removed.
