Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the number of manhours and absorb axial vibration of a holder. SOLUTION: A power unit is composed of an engine, a transmitting case 41, and a cover member 46. A starter 13 arranged on the engine has a starter motor 61 mounted on the transmitting case 41, a support shaft 63 rotated interlockingly with the starter motor 61, and a pinion 65 which can be axially moved on the support shaft 63, meshed with a ring gear 11 arranged on a crank shaft 12 of the engine upon being moved for transmitting the rotation of the support shaft 63 to the ring gear 11. One end of the support shaft 63 is rotatably arranged on the transmitting case 41, while the other end is rotatably arranged on a holder 68 held by an inner wall of the cover member 46. An elastic member 69 is sandwiched between the holder 68 and the cover member 46. The elastic member 69 is fitted to the holder 68 or the cover member 46.

The gasket 62 and the elastic support 112
If a separate member is used, it is necessary to fix it to the holder 110 or the case member 63 with an adhesive or the like in order to prevent the displacement of the elastic support portion 112, and there is a disadvantage that the number of assembly steps increases. Further, the adhesive may deteriorate with time, and if it deteriorates, the adhesive must be applied to the elastic support portion 112 again. Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a starter support structure for a motorcycle engine that can be easily assembled and can absorb axial vibration of a holder.

According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided an engine, a transmission case connected to a crankcase of the engine, and a cover member covering the transmission case. A power unit, a starter attached to the engine, a starter motor attached to a transmission case, a support shaft rotating in conjunction with the starter motor, and an axially movable and movable on the support shaft. A pinion that meshes with a ring gear provided on the crankshaft of the engine and transmits the rotation of the support shaft to the ring gear, one end of the support shaft is rotatably mounted on the transmission case, and the other end of the support shaft is rotatably covered. It is attached to the holder held by the inner wall, and an elastic member is sandwiched between the holder and the cover member. It was fitted and held in the over member.

Since the elastic member does not need to be formed integrally with the gasket or the like, and a special fixing member for fixing the elastic member is not required, the assembling becomes easy and the number of assembling steps can be reduced. Further, there is no need to worry about deterioration of the adhesive with time, and it is possible to absorb the axial vibration of the holder.

According to a second aspect, the elastic member is held by the holder. Since the elastic member can be temporarily fixed to the holder only by fitting without using an adhesive, the number of assembling steps can be reduced. In addition, if the elastic member is held in the holder in advance, for example, in an assembly line of a power unit, the assembly of the holder and the elastic member is small, so that a small storage space is required, and furthermore, during the assembly flowing through the line. The above-mentioned assemblies can be assembled one after another to the power unit, and the assemblability can be improved.

When the pinion 65 moves, the pinion 6
The stopper 67 at the front end of the pin 5 contacts one end face of the holder 68, and regulates the movement of the pinion 65. At this time, the holder 68 vibrates when the stopper 67 hits,
This vibration can be absorbed by the rubber 69 fitted and held on the other end face of the holder 68, and the holder 68 itself,
It is possible to prevent the transmission case 41 and the cover member 46 from being deformed, damaged, and generated.

FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view showing another embodiment of the method for mounting rubber according to the present invention, and shows that the rubber 71 is fitted and held on the cover member 46. As described above, the rubber 71 is covered with the cover member 46 only by fitting without using an adhesive.
Can be temporarily stopped, so that the number of assembly steps can be reduced.

In the embodiment of the present invention, the elastic member is the rubber 69. However, the elastic member is not limited to this and may be a soft resin. Further, although the thin portion 69k is formed in the rubber 69, the thin portion 69k may be removed to form a hole. Further, the rubber 69 is attached to the holder 68 or the cover member 46.
However, in addition to this, it may be bonded to the holder 68 or the cover member 46 using an adhesive.

According to the present invention, the following effects are exhibited by the above configuration. A starter support structure for a motorcycle engine according to claim 1 is a power unit including an engine, a transmission case connected to a crankcase of the engine, and a cover member that covers the transmission case, and is attached to the engine. The starter includes a starter motor attached to the transmission case, a support shaft that rotates in conjunction with the starter motor, and a ring gear that is movable on the support shaft in the axial direction, and is provided on the crankshaft of the engine when moved. A pinion for transmitting the rotation of the support shaft to the ring gear, rotatably mounting one end of the support shaft to the transmission case, and rotatably mounting the other end of the support shaft to a holder held by the inner wall of the cover member. An elastic member is sandwiched between the holder and the cover member, and the elastic member is fitted and held in the holder or the cover member. Therefore, it is not necessary to form the elastic member integrally with the gasket or the like, and since a special fixing member for fixing the elastic member is not required, the assembling becomes easy and the number of assembling steps can be reduced. Further, there is no need to worry about the deterioration of the adhesive with time, and the vibration in the axial direction of the holder can be absorbed.

In the starter support structure for a motorcycle engine according to the second aspect, since the elastic member is held by the holder, the elastic member can be temporarily fixed to the holder only by fitting without using an adhesive. Can be suppressed. Further, if the elastic member is held in the holder in advance, for example, in an assembly line of the power unit, the assembly of the holder and the elastic member is small, so that the storage space is small, and furthermore,
The above-mentioned assembly can be assembled one after another to the power unit under assembly flowing down the line, and the assembling property can be improved.

According to the third aspect of the present invention, the elastic member is held by the cover member.
Since the elastic member can be temporarily fixed to the cover member only by fitting without using an adhesive, the number of assembly steps can be reduced.
